After dining at Taverna Kyclades, I honestly thought it would be hard to find a Greek restaurant at that level, but Philia truly surprised me. The food has even more flavor, the portions are generous, and everything tastes fresh and authentic. From the seafood to the meats, every dish was outstanding and beautifully presented.
On top of that, the prices are very fair for the quality you receive. The atmosphere, service, and attention to detail make the experience even better. Philia is definitely on another level and has nothing to envy from any Greek restaurant in Astoria. I will definitely be coming back again and again!”

My husband and I were looking for a nice greek restaurant so he googled and reviews were promising so we decided to give a try. Unfortunately the food is not greek if you don’t know how Greek food tastes like then its fine. I grew up with a Greek family and I know too much, expectation are high. Food was not good not even close its own by Spanish people, music was so loud, we have to yell in order to hear each other when we got the food, they did not bring us any white sauce additionally food it’s very expensive not worth the price. Hopefully they don’t delete my review because it’s only has good reviews according to website.

We dined here on Mother’s Day. When making the reservation, I selected the standard menu, but once seated there was only one menu, which was the Mother’s Day special. No other menus or additional options were provided — not even a drink menu. I wasn’t particularly interested in the dessert choices on the prix fixe, but just went along with it to keep things simple since they seemed busy.
The biggest issue was the lack of communication and attentiveness. Our entree took over an hour to come out. We waited patiently because we understood they were busy, but after a while we genuinely started wondering if they had forgotten about us. During most of that time, our table sat empty, and there were essentially no check-ins throughout the meal unless we called someone over ourselves. Dessert also took quite a while.
We dine out frequently, and Greek food is one of my favorites — I’ve even traveled to Greece — so while I didn’t go in with unreasonably high expectations, I did expect decent service based on the outstanding reviews. We understood the holiday rush and chose to keep things simple by going along with the prix fixe menu, which made the lack of communication and long waits feel even more disappointing. Overall, the experience felt underwhelming for the occasion.

“I had an amazing experience at Philia Restaurant. The atmosphere was modern, elegant, and very welcoming. The lamb chops were definitely the highlight of the night — perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. You could really taste the quality of the meat and the attention to detail in the preparation.
The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout the entire dinner. Everything came out fresh and quickly. Definitely a place I’d come back to and highly recommend if you’re looking for great Greek food on Long Island.”

What a terrible experience. If you’re Asian stay away. Long story short, it was Mother’s Day and they didn’t let us order from their regular menu (which we were ok with), and instead order from their prefix course menu. As we were ready to order, the server kept telling us certain things weren’t available anymore and we started to get a bit upset. My mother ordered the steak, and we started to look around and realized everyone who had ordered the steak got big 14 ounce cuts (as stated on the menu). As a business owner who deals with meat, I clearly could tell she was given a 6oz piece of steak. We kindly asked why this was the case, and their manager started yelling saying no we’re wrong and even brought out the order invoice and a raw piece of steak for us to see. Incredibly rude. Then we asked for the free dessert as stated on the menu and another server says we’re not allowed to order dessert, meanwhile everyone around us was getting dessert. Now we knew what was going on. We asked them why they were playing games with us and the owner started yelling at us saying we were being disrespectful and dishonest and didn’t even apologize for their mistake. Bunch of scammers and racist employees. Stay away.
