It’s my neighborhood grocery store, so I am there multiple times a week. Staff is always pleasant, and the store is always clean. My only issue is with parking. I’ve noticed a grey Honda that constantly parks in one of the spots up front. Almost certain that it is someone employed there. I am unable to park in the handicap space, but have been dealing with an injury of late. The spots closest to the store should be used by customers that could use the convenience. Not held down by someone working an entire shift.

They never have sale items. Poor management and poor customer service. I will make sure that me and my friends and family never shop here again.

I have never been treated so well as I was this past weekend. There was some confusion over the price of an item, which was in the space marked with the sale sign. My cashier went to investigate the situation, and when another front end team member noticed that I had been waiting for a little while, jumped in to help. The cashier returned with the correct item, freshly packaged from the butcher, and gave me a gift card worth double the price of the mistake items. This was an example of customer service at its finest.

Hannaford is currently engaged in a textbook "bait-and-switch" scheme at both the Delmar and Central Ave locations. For two weeks straight, they have used their physical and digital circulars to lure customers in for "provisions" that do not exist on their shelves. Last week it was green beans; this week, I was told to "come back tomorrow" for advertised scallops. Let’s be clear: This is a violation of New York Comp. Codes R. & Regs. Tit. 1 § 272-2.2, which explicitly states that a retailer shall not offer food for sale via advertisement unless they have those products "in stock and readily available for sale." Furthermore, under New York General Business Law § 349, deceptive acts and practices in the conduct of any business are unlawful. Advertising year-round staples and frozen goods to extract foot traffic, only to deny the consumer those items because of "logistics" or "scheduling," is materially misleading. I am an adult, not a child seeking permission to buy food. I shouldn't have to wait for your employees to decide when I am "permitted" to access advertised stock. If your regional management is too incompetent to move a crate of beans from a truck to a shelf by the time you open your doors, stop printing the circulars. You are wasting the public’s time and mental energy while violating state consumer protection laws. To other shoppers: If they don't have the advertised item, don't just walk away. Report them to the NY Department of Agriculture and Markets. They are legally required to have these items ready for you. I'm writing my email now.
