  Stopped by for lunch and ended up having a really enjoyable experience from start to finish. I came in solo, but the atmosphere felt comfortable and welcoming right away, making it an easy place to relax and enjoy a meal without feeling rushed. I ordered the shakshuka with feta along with the chicken soup, and both dishes were excellent. The shakshuka had rich flavor, perfectly cooked eggs, and just the right balance of seasoning and tomato without becoming too heavy. The feta added a nice creamy, slightly salty contrast that pulled everything together really well. The chicken soup was comforting, fresh, and surprisingly filling on its own. What stood out to me was the portion size. Even dining alone, the amount of food was generous enough that it easily could have been shared between two people for a lighter meal. Everything tasted homemade and thoughtfully prepared rather than overly polished or commercial. The service was also genuinely great throughout the visit. Staff members were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out quickly while still giving the experience a relaxed feel. Overall, this was one of those simple but memorable lunch spots that gets the important things right — flavorful food, welcoming service, and portions that leave you completely satisfied. Definitely a place I’d come back to again.

  Conflicted on this one. The flavors are fine, and the service is fine. But the lamb shank ($35) came with so little meat on the bone that I left feeling completely gaslit by this well regarded Brooklyn institution. The was about 4 or 5 McDonalds nuggets worth on meat on this giant lamb shank. Will never go back.

  We ordered for delivery for Mother's Day. We have enjoyed dining at the restaurant in the past. We were delighted to get the yummy food at home on Mother's Day, and really in record time. As always, we recommend Dar 525 highly!

  I got take out and didn’t love it. The chicken shawarma was dry and the lamb rolls (not pictured) were very oily, compared to other phyllo rolls I’ve had. Maybe dine in is better?

  We LOVED the food here! Delicious flavors with perfect portions. We had a tiny complaint that the Pellegrino wasn't cold and they brought us a brand new bottle - issue solved! The meze platter w/ Muhammara, cauliflower, beets, moussaka, baba was yum - pita was thin not fluffy so we left not overstuffed but full! Also enjoyed the falafel and kale with a yummy bulgur base and veggie tajin. Next time - I am curious to try the syrian meatballs and fish dish!
