  I wasn’t sure what to expect, but we had a wonderful pizza here. The cheese was great! The lady at the counter was very kind and helpful. Price was right. Self service at the few tables there.

  Tino and his wife have so many special treats. The wood-fired Margarita pizza is absolutely lovely. Next time I'm in the neighborhood, I'm coming in for the Montepulciano.

  Phenomenally friendly family run business and really good margarita pizza. Lots of other Italian deli and grocery and dessert options.

  I visited this restaurant for the NYC World Cup special, and unfortunately, the experience left us feeling uncomfortable and singled out. The pizza crust was extremely hard, and the pizza itself lacked flavor. However, the larger concern was the difference in how we were treated compared with other patrons. We were required to pay before receiving our food, while other customers were allowed to receive their meals first and pay afterward. Once we were seated, there was little to no interaction from the staff. After reviewing the menu more closely, we realized dessert was included with the special, but as we prepared to leave, no one mentioned it, offered it to us, or asked whether we still wanted it. We also observed a white couple arrive for the same special and receive chilled glasses for their beer, while my beer was left sitting on the table getting warm without the same consideration. We were the only Black customers in the establishment at the time, and the repeated differences in service made us feel unwelcome and out of place. I cannot speak to the staff’s intentions, but I can speak to the unequal treatment we experienced and observed. What should have been an enjoyable World Cup dining experience instead left us feeling as though we were treated differently from the other patrons because of who we were. The restaurant should review its service practices and ensure every customer receives the same level of attention, courtesy, and hospitality. UPDATE!! Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate your explanation regarding the payment policy, although it did not match what we observed during our visit. My concern wasn’t based on that issue alone. When we walked in, there was literally only one other occupied table in the restaurant. After we were seated, only two additional tables were occupied, so the restaurant was not particularly busy. Despite that, we received very little interaction from the staff. We later realized the World Cup special included dessert, yet no one ever mentioned it, offered it, or asked if we wanted it before we left. We also observed another couple receiving chilled glasses for their beer while ours was served without the same attention. Individually, any one of these things could have been an oversight. Collectively, they made us feel like we were receiving a different level of service than other guests. I cannot speak to anyone’s intentions, but I can speak to how the experience made us feel. My review reflects my honest experience, not an assumption about anyone’s character. I hope you take this feedback as an opportunity to ensure every guest receives the same level of service and attention, regardless of who they are.
