This is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the most magnificent spot. Pros, the Atmosphere and the Service. Cons, the food. The price is high, average $100 per person with tip. This would be worth it if the food were good. The $70 filet mignon, was tender, grey, no smell. The swordfish puttanesca was like marinara sauce, no olives, no garlic, no flavor, the scallops were small and lacked flavor, cooked too much. They did get the bread, the potatoes, the wine, and dessert done nicely.
They have redecorated and added at least four more tables to the main inside room. While there was NOBODY in the restaurant it was difficult to walk to our table.
Will we go back? Definitely, for the upstairs bar and sushi at happy hour. The food MUST improve if we were to go back for dinner or lunch. It is early in the season. I hope that this review will help the chef and management to make the needed changes and make this restaurant what it is truly meant to be and has been in the past.
Terrible mother's day experience; 90 mins to receive entrees, steak hard as rock. A lot of people that day had same experience I saw, was highly disappointed.
Went for Mother’s Day. Food was terrible (the steak was as chewy as a leather shoe), they only had one bartender the whole evening and it took 30 minutes to get drinks (not the bartender’s fault, the restaurant should have staffed more than one bartender for such a busy night), and the glasses were filthy (lipstick on glasses brought to table). For what they charge (~$100 a head for pre-fixe), this is an absolute shame.
We have been waiting for almost one hour and nobody taking order for us, the service was sooo bad!
