  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Grand has become one of my go-to spots in Astoria. I stop here almost every morning before work for coffee, and somehow I still end up coming back almost every week to eat 😂 Whether it’s brunch or dinner with friends, the food and atmosphere are always great. The staff is welcoming, the service is consistent, and it’s just one of those places you can always count on. Definitely a neighborhood favorite!

  It’s all about the atmosphere, because the food is terrible. This was our second time at The Grand, and unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing as the first time. The first time, we ordered the $40 steak and eggs. The steak was extremely small and mostly fat, and the potatoes tasted old and stale. The coffe first time was good. We decided to give it another chance, thinking maybe it was just an off day. This time, we ordered the breakfast burrito, Caesar wrap, and coffee. The coffee tasted like sweetened milk, and the chicken wrap was not fresh at all. It was basically dry fried chicken and lettuce with nothing else inside. Everything tasted cheap and low-quality. Honestly, we felt like we were dining at Denny’s, except we were paying upscale restaurant prices. The deli on my block tastes better and fresher than this. The atmosphere is beautiful, but unfortunately, that’s about it.

  Dining experience was extremely uncomfortable because there was no air conditioning. With the current heat wave in the city, it was unbearably hot inside the restaurant. To make things worse, they kept the doors open, which allowed flies and other insects to come inside. There were insects everywhere, which is unacceptable when you’re trying to enjoy a meal. The food and the service were actually very good, and the staff was friendly.

  The Grand is Visually appealing and the atmosphere is nice. Until the waitress walks over and seems like she doesn't want to be bothered. Our server was Irene. The food was not good. my son ordered the chicken penne alla vodka. He said it was very bland. I ordered a salad with shrimp. They left out the cheese, the shrimps tasted like they were cooked on a dirty pan that was used to cook eggs. I couldn't eat the salad. It taste like it was washed and put on the plate without spinning out the water. The dressing was watery as well. So no flavor at all, just the flavor of the beets. I just asked for the check and the server didn't even ask what was wrong with the salad. That didn't surprise me too much because of her attitude the entire time, but I do not return food. I've wanted to visit this place for awhile, so it was disappointing. I was there for dinner, it was decorated nice and the music was nice too.

  I've walked past The Grand countless times and always admired the beautiful décor, the sliding doors opening onto the patio, and how it always seemed packed for brunch. Also noticeable is the huge crowd of attractive young adults catching up with friends and having a great time. My mom recently told me they have a happy hour menu that's available for most of the day (I believe noon–8 PM at the bar), along with lunch specials and brunch promotions, so I finally decided to check it out. We ordered a burger, a dozen wings (half Buffalo, half sweet chili (my favorite), and two sodas. With tax, the total was just $21. Other places would probably charge that just for wings. Left our server a $7 tip to show our appreciation. We also caught the second half of the Spain World Cup match, and it turned out to be a great spot to watch a game. Lately, I feel like eating out has become soo expensive, so finding a place like this is refreshing. I can see myself coming here once or twice a week for happy hour—next time ill order myself an adult beverage. Also if you go, do yourself a favor and stop next door at Marvel Ice Cream for dessert. It makes for the perfect ending to a great meal!
