First of all, for all newcomers, GRATUITY (25%) will be included on check, so beware.
Did I know it and accept it and then start to order my food?
No. They did not bother letting me know.
Did the whole experience deserve a 25% gratuity? Also no.
Did they tell me “if you want to pay with American Experience card you also need to give your ID and we will take a picture of it” before?
Also no.
To be honest, the whole payment process was a circus.
I found Prime No 7 after my long search and I was impressed by their rating. So I decided to give it a try. I must say, they have the best mushrooms ever! I tried many Korean BBQ places, I never had mushrooms like theirs. I guess it was the highlight of my experience. Beef belly was also very good and lamb too. But their thin brisket was definitely not thin. It was unnecessarily thick and tasteless. Other beef meats were also not very good.
In sum, I can say that it was not worth for me to drive 1.5 hours to get caught by gratuity storm and American Express madness 😁

We wanted to celebrate my nephew's 13th bday w one of his favorites...Korean BBQ! And while the food was amazing (lots of great side dishes and delicious cuts of meat) the service had a couple of drawbacks. First, if you bring your own cake they charge a $30 service fee to cut it at the table; not for them to cut it, but to just be ALLOWED to cut it!! This hidden fee was only revealed to us by our server AFTER we were done with our meal and asked for the cake to be brought out. But since we had already communicated our plans well in advance, first during the reservations phase and then again to the hostess upon our arrival, we were unpleasantly surprised. The server offered the restaurant's alternative of a $10 slice of house cake but we were just ready to leave at that point and only asked for our cake so we can take it home. The server then explained the situation to a manger who waived the service fee and they brought out the cake so we could sing happy birthday. But here's where things get bad. Because it was an ice cream cake, we had asked the hostess when we arrived to please keep it in the freezer until after the meal. A critical mixup ended up with the servers bringing out a melted cake (the pic is priceless😬). To be fair, once they saw the kids' reactions to the soupy mess they brought several slices of the house cake with candles.
Overall I would have given 5 stars for the food and atmosphere, but between the $30 cake fee, the 20% late fee per person if anyone is over 10 minutes late, the 4% service fee for credit cards, and the 18% mandatory minimum gratuity for mediocre service this was the best I could do.
Halal observing with no compromise on the quality of food and service, Prime No 7 is an awesome new KBBQ restaurant in Astoria. The AYCE special is very affordable with a large variety of food. No shortage of different cuts of beef, chicken, and lamb, all prepared with a large variety of marinades. Additionally, there’s a large assortment of sushi/sashimi and Korean food ready to order, all fresh, tasty, and high quality. The menu is indeed halal, however, BYOB is allowed. As far as drinks go, the mocktails they have on the menu are all very fresh, fruity, and flavorful, constructed with excellent presentation.
Of note, the service and atmosphere is impeccable. Warm greetings from the hostess to welcome you into an elevated dining area. Tables are all equipped with efficient grills with smoke evacuators. Your waiter is personally assigned to you to help in preparing and serving the ordered meats.
Now let me tell you something, my waiter **DAVID**, this dude might be the #1 reason I come back. Good conversation, gave honest recommendations, and was just an overall good dude to ensure our party had a great lunch/birthday. Attention to detail and our gustatory satisfaction, without compromise.
If you’re in Astoria craving KBBQ, and in a party that may have halal dietary restrictions, RUN, don’t walk, to Prime No 7. Shout out David.

I try to refrain from writing bad reviews but this server made my first experience here the worst possible experience ever. Starting from when the food came out being unclear about how to order then he decides to take the order sheet and double my order the second round even though I told them I wouldn’t be able to finish it all. Not to mention their focus was highly on the party next to us. The water stayed empty. And when I asked to pay they came back not even charging my card but took my card came back and said they needed ID. Took my id and my card to go scan it. Can anyone be more racist than the server named terry. Idk who hired him but genuinely ruined my dinner experience. The fact 20% was a forced gratuity is bs. The service was so horrible I was placing the meat on the grill by myself because they took so long to come to my table. Mind you wasn’t busy at all. From being vague and uninformed to then accusing me of fraudulent activity, management seriously needs to take a look at his reviews and just see how he treats customers. The only good part of this place was the ambience and food. Service was not worth me coming back again.

Wow Wow Wow!
After months of contemplating, I finally made the trek over to queens in order to try Prime No 7. By the end of the night my friends and I left having placed a new crown on our favorite K bbq house.
As soon as we entered Primo No 7 we were greeted by the manager and promptly offered a seat despite being walk ins. When you walk in, you can’t help but notice the decor that consumes this place. The owners have created an aura the promotes calm, chill, and a place to really socialize either on a date or a group setting. I’ve never been to a restaurant that had actual sofas for guests to sit on. Despite coming in on a Tuesday, the place was packed, yet I did not see a single piece of dirt on the floor. This place was spotless and added to the premium, cozy aura.
When we were seated the Marvelous Joanne came over to us and aided us in choosing between dishes. Given my first time at this store, I was unaware of some of the dish names and what they were. Thanks to Joanne I was able to get a better picture and was able to choose dishes that satisfied me. Alongside Joanne, Allen came over and took the time to help chose drinks, and really made our stay even more comfortable i.g he switched out the grill without us having to ask.
The food arrived promptly and it got to a point where we just had to sit and really take in the wonderful spices each dish had. Often, many restaurants cheap out on the Miso soup, but EVERY single dish we had was cooked to perfection and devoured; Including the appetizers. Hands down, this was the best Miso soup I’ve had, in addition to the fried beef dumplings. Our group primarily focused on beef, but it was nice that they had several meat options available. Every beef dish we ordered was spiced accordingly and as soon as it hit the tongue, bursted with flavor.
As we drew near the end of our dinner, both Joanne and Allen continued to ask if we needed anything. The glorious Joanne went out of her way to scoop the meats we cooked from the grill and place them on a plate to facilitate us sharing the meal.
Given the premium experience of this venue, I believe the all you can eat price of $49.99 for Kbbq was well justified. Customers also had the option of upgrading for a slightly higher price of $54.99 for both Kbbq and sushi.
My Trek to queens was well worth it as at the end of the night my friends and I were able to enjoy great food, quality time, and relax. To top it all off, all the dishes are halal!
I look forward to coming back. Thank you Prime No 7!
