  If you are looking for an authentic Peruvian meal, this spot delivers. While the staff was incredibly friendly, they weren't quite as attentive as I am typically used to. However, the food and drinks more than made up for it. The fresh passion fruit juice was absolutely delicious. For starters, the empanadas alongside the tostones and guacamole were perfect. The spicy seafood soup was a highlight; the seafood tasted like it just came right out of the ocean and the broth was packed with flavor and a nice little spicy kick. To finish, the chicken was prepared well and expertly seasoned with authentic Peruvian spices. I left the restaurant satisfied and would definitely return for the quality of the kitchen.

  The food is so delicious! We ordered the Lomo Saltado and Chaufa mixto. The meat for both plates were juicy and had great flavor. Our server was so nice and funny. He was great. And the music set the vibe. We will definitely be coming back with our family.

  So I went out with my friends for a little girls night. Our server name was George and he was absolutely fantastic. He took well care of us brought us our food on time as well as our drinks! if you ever come to Don Pollo ask for George!

  Una experiencia increíble. La comida estuvo deliciosa, súper auténtica y llena de sabor. El ambiente muy agradable y acogedor, perfecto para disfrutar y pasar un buen momento. También quiero destacar a George, quien fue un excelente mesero: muy atento, amable y siempre asegurándose de que todo estuviera perfecto estoy muy feliz de haber venido y definitivamente volvería!!!

  We had such a wonderful experience at Don Pollo, and a big part of that was thanks to Jose. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel genuinely welcome and taken care of! Jose was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. He took the time to answer our questions, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything arrived exactly as we wanted. You can tell he truly cares about his customers and takes pride in providing exceptional service, his warm personality and outstanding attention to detail turned a great meal into a memorable one. If you visit Don Pollo in Astoria, ask for Jose—you’ll be in excellent hands. And if you haven’t been there yet, the delicious food and top-notch service are more than enough reason to go. We’ll definitely be coming back!
