  Everything I had was marvelous. The steak was perfectly cook the salmon was fabulous.

  We had an awesome experience at Saltgrass in Lake Tahoe! Mike B took great care of us and made the whole meal easy and enjoyable. I got the sirloin, and it was cooked perfectly, exactly how I wanted it. The mashed potatoes were great too, and everything came out tasting fresh and hot. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our refills came fast, Mike checked on us at the right times, and we never felt like we were waiting around. The atmosphere was lively and popping, which made the whole dinner even better. Overall, great food, great service, and a really fun experience. Big shoutout to Mike B for making it such a good night!

  Absolutely unbelievable experience at SaltGrass Steakhouse. We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Friday and the restaurant was practically empty. Right from the start, we were completely transparent with the host stand and manager that we were part of a travel hockey team and expected around 10 people initially, with additional families potentially trickling in over time. We specifically stated that we DID NOT need tables pushed together, separate checks were completely fine, separate servers were fine, and we simply hoped to sit in the same general area and watch the NHL game. The manager told us “no problem.” As more families arrived, we naturally filled nearby empty tables in the same section of an almost completely vacant restaurant. That’s when the chaos started. Staff suddenly began “interrogating” us repeatedly because some people sat in another server’s section. We were told it “wasn’t fair” to the servers. We were also repeatedly reminded that our group was becoming “too large,” despite the fact the restaurant was still mostly empty and despite us trying to cooperate every step of the way. Then came the TV situation. We had specifically asked to watch the NHL game, and the staff struggled multiple times to even figure out how to change the channel. At one point they literally told us they “couldn’t figure it out.” Eventually they managed to get the game on after several attempts. Things somehow got even worse from there. Management then informed us that part of our group needed to move to another area where the game wasn’t visible because the server arrangements weren’t “fair.” We again explained that separate checks, multiple servers, and split seating were completely fine. We genuinely tried to accommodate them however they wanted. Then we were told one section being “mostly kids” wasn’t fair to the servers because the bills supposedly wouldn’t be high enough for the amount of work involved. Imagine openly complaining to paying customers that their children aren’t profitable enough. At this point, we had already been approached multiple times and treated like a problem instead of guests. The manager eventually came over and claimed the staff was “in tears because of us.” That was honestly shocking considering all we had done was try to sit down, order food, and watch a hockey game while complying with every new demand thrown at us. Eventually, after continuing to make us feel unwelcome and like an inconvenience, the manager outright kicked our group out of the restaurant entirely, claiming we were “too large” and “being mean.” To be clear: * We informed them about the group size BEFORE sitting down. * We agreed to separate tables. * We agreed to separate servers. * We agreed to separate checks. * We tried repeatedly to cooperate. * The restaurant was mostly empty the entire time. I have genuinely never seen a restaurant so determined to turn away a massive amount of business on a dead Friday night. This wasn’t hospitality. It was disorganization, poor management, terrible communication, and staff openly complaining about customers to their faces. We left feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and honestly stunned by how badly this was handled. Travel teams, large families, or anyone hoping for a welcoming atmosphere should avoid this place entirely.
