We used to love this buffet, but the food selection has gotten worse over the years now without King Crab and other better choices not available anymore. For the price there are much better options with much higher food quality in Reno. To top it off they refused to offer my son a Military discount because he doesn't have a players club card. He's 19 and can't gamble, but he wanted the buffet while home on leave. Needless to say we won't be back!!

My wife and I visited Toucan Charlie's Buffet at Atlantis Casino on Saturday, the Fourth of July, and had a mixed experience. Knowing it would be a busy holiday, we arrived "early" and joined the line at 4:12 PM. The buffet opened at 4:30 PM, and the line began moving as expected. However, after about 30 minutes, progress slowed to a crawl. By around 6:30 PM, we were finally near the entrance, only to discover there were two additional priority lines for Sapphire and Diamond Monarch Rewards members. We eventually reached the cashier at approximately 7:15 PM - more than three hours after getting in line. The holiday buffet was priced at $65.99 per person, plus tax. Once inside, the experience improved considerably. We were escorted to a spacious, comfortable booth, and the buffet itself offered an impressive variety of cuisines, including Japanese, Korean, Indian, Mexican, and many other international selections. As for the food, it was a mixed bag. Several dishes were excellent - fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Unfortunately, other items were disappointing, arriving lukewarm or cold when they should have been hot and freshly served. The inconsistency kept the overall dining experience from living up to its premium price. One area that truly stood out was the dessert selection. The variety was impressive, and the quality exceeded our expectations, providing a sweet ending to the meal. If you're planning to visit, I strongly recommend making a reservation through OpenTable to avoid the extremely long wait, especially during holidays and weekends. It's also worth joining the Monarch Rewards program if you dine here regularly, as members receive discounted buffet pricing (for example, weekday lunches are significantly less expensive for members). As we left the restaurant, we found ourselves with mixed feelings. Stepping outside, we were surprised to see that the line was still just as long as when we had arrived. Considering the restaurant can accommodate up to 600 guests, the demand for Toucan Charlie's is clearly remarkable. Would I return? Probably not. While the variety of food is impressive and there are certainly some standout dishes, the combination of the lengthy wait, premium holiday pricing, and inconsistent food quality doesn't justify another visit for me.

Amazing options, and the best head chefs up there cooking up all the meals and keeping me informed of the allergens menu. Honestly, the best tamales and BBQ station they got!!!

Well what can I say positive The attendant Hugo was very responsive and attentive with a great positive attitude to all his customers 40-50+/- And took personal concern when I brought to his attention the issues. The food was a different story People were flocking to the crab legs which was not fresh with a fishy taste and was kind of mushy indicating it might have been in the molt stage when harvested It was not fresh. It comes in frozen not fresh. In fact all the seafood did not taste fresh at all. When you consider seafood being fresh, you would think that it would come straight from the sea to the table. The crab comes in Frozen as does most of the other seafood so if it is frozen it is not fresh. Fresh frozen means it was frozen when it was fresh but by the time it gets to your plate it is not fresh any longer. So by them saying fresh seafood is a misleading statement. Very disappointed Eggs Benedict: Eggs were undercooked and runny Prime Rib: good taste but dry. Tried the Asian food. Panda Express does a better job than Toucan Charlies Taco Bell does better on their so called Hispanic foods. The Deserts were really the only thing of any decency except the gelato was ice cream not gelato still good but not the density of gelato. Overall disappointed 😞 Way over priced for the food. Edit: The mananger also took concern over my report and immediately brought it to the attention of the executive chef on duty to make sure that the issues would be properly taken care of for other customers. Hopefully. The only reason why I gave it two stars was because of Hugo. He was the best part of the entire experience to be honest. And because the manager and the executive chef handled the situation as I see it properly.
