I am split on this place. It deserves five stars if you are visiting from outside a big city, enjoy classic fine dining, or simply prefer not to cook. However, if you are an experienced home cook who knows how to sear a great steak, it feels more like a three star experience. You might not be completely blown away by the steak alone.
To get the most out of your meal, I definitely suggest ordering the sides. Their twice baked potato was fantastic. The whipped potatoes mixed with bacon and chives were incredibly savory, rich, and flavorful.
I ordered the New York strip medium rare. Truthfully, it was just fine, and while there was nothing wrong with it, it did not particularly stand out. Ultimately, you come here for the legendary ambience and the exceptional service, both of which were top notch.
I am so sad to write this!! Where do
I even start?! We have been trying for years to get in here, and got a reservation sat night. I will put out a disclaimer…Yes, we had some beverages before, but it’s Vegas!! Also I have a very loud voice so that was not helpful here. We were a party of 4 celebrating our 20 and 25th wedding anniversaries. Within the first 10 minutes of being seated a woman (assuming manager) approached us and asked us to control our volume. We were surprised but agreed to be mindful and apologized. Our waitress was a gem, she was wonderful and we proceeded to order food and continue on with our night. The table side ceasar was okay, shrimp was pretty good, the lobster tail was huge, but was overcooked. Bottom line, for Vegas, the food was just okay.
Then we ordered a round of dessert drinks at the end of our meal, only to be approached again by the very unkind and abrasive female manager in the glasses who told us we could not have a drink because they can refuse to serve anyone. Now, I do not support overserving, but again this is Las Vegas! We took came via cab!
We left feeling sad and embarrassed. Truly the biggest let down experienced in Vegas to date and we go here a few times a year. I’m not saying don’t go, but this is not the atmosphere we were expecting on our fun time away from everything.
Just mind your voice and be on your best behavior patrons!
This is a hard review to write as I don’t want to be negative for such an iconic place and how excited we were to get reservations and go eat there a couple of nights ago. The atmosphere was everything we expected but the food was not at all what we expected and have been watching on social media for the past year. We ordered our drinks which were great!! Our appetizer was shrimp cocktail and it was 4/5, would absolutely have that again anywhere. Then they made our Cesar salad tableside which was nice!! But the thing that we just are so very disappointed in is our main course, the Wagu Steak with lobster tail, baked potato and asparagus. It was beautifully plated but the flavor was NOT there. We were sadly disappointed. The baked potato was very dry, the asparagus was bland and the lobster was overcooked. I would not recommend coming to Golden Steer for the good steak and lobster experience. Very disappointing. It’s hard when I want to give the vibe/atmosphere a 5 but the food was at best 2-3. We took all of it in a box out the door (which should have been a hint to our waiter to ask if it was ok) and we ended up giving it to a displaced individual on the street so that someone got it and it was not wasted into the trash. But again, atmosphere was beautiful.

Planning a wedding dinner from out of state always comes with a million moving pieces and throughout the entire process the Golden Steer team was unbelievably patient, kind, and accommodating.
When our wedding day finally arrived, everything was absolutely flawless. We must have changed our seating chart more times than anyone should reasonably have to endure, yet every single change was met with warmth, flexibility, and reassurance.
The team had set up every piece of our décor perfectly, making the room feel even more beautiful than we had imagined. The service throughout the evening was impeccable - warm, attentive, and incredibly polished without ever feeling intrusive. Every member of our family commented on how exceptional the staff was.
And then there was the food. Simply outstanding. Every course was delicious but the Caesar salad presentation was one of the highlights of the evening. Hearing the history of the Golden Steer while watching it prepared right in front of us created such a memorable experience for our guests. It wasn't just dinner, it felt like we were sharing a piece of Las Vegas history together.
What makes the Golden Steer truly extraordinary, though, goes far beyond the incredible food. Throughout our planning process, they became genuine partners in making our wedding happen. They recommended wonderful local vendors (including our florist, our wedding cake designer and our party bus - all of whom were incredible). Those recommendations made such a difference and we honestly don't know how we would have pulled everything together without their guidance.
To everyone at the Golden Steer: thank you the countless ways you made our wedding dinner so incredibly special!

Walking in, we met a host. Great experience very nice. Told us all about his menu. Very excited sat down. Waited for our table. When our table got ready we went to sit down server comes out. Alessandro? He rushes you to take your order. Doesn’t like to explain too much of the menu. The restaurant has a market price under seafood when you ask him he’s like I gotta go check and come back doesn’t know the price of the seafood then he gets upset because he wants to go check. and now when you’re trying to order his Breeding through his nostrils take your order you have to ask for bread they don’t bring it sodas you have to ask for food comes out appetizer. We’re good bread was still Overcook dry didn’t comes out. The gentleman was so upset. Didn’t even come back to the table left for tonight without even telling us other servers bring out the food the sides mac & cheese were cold sweet corn was cold. I didn’t mind because I ordered those for my seven years old, when we look around the table, there’s no steak knives we have to ask them and they tell us they should’ve been on the table. Well, they’re not very poor hospitality for a five star restaurant. I won’t academic at all. The only thing was good.baked potato was hot. Very good steaks were cold. Mine was overcooked. I asked And they said that’s the way I ordered it but if you want, we could prepare your new one. I said it’s cold on top of that. I would like a warm steak so they prepared a whole new steak came out 20 minutes later my lobster was ice cold. What a hot steak didn’t even offer to remake the lobster. I ordered a combo overall Lady finished out serving us. She had a smile she did her part, but the experience was very bad. The state came out good the ribeye the second time around nobody came to apologize. Nobody picked up a table very very poor Hospitality I asked for a manager Michael comes at the table at the end of the night from the bar drunk told him the situation he’s like we re-made your steak yeah but you didn’t ask about my lobster. It was a combo. My side were cold. a server left us without even telling us there was no steak knives on the table. We ordered three steaks. It’s a steakhouse you shouldn’t have to request for a steak knife only thing he could tell me he’s sorry or human we do make mistakes didn’t offer us any help. Didn’t want to take care of you. He just wanted us to leave. That’s the way we felt very sad. We picked his steakhouse over so many here in Las Vegas to celebrate our 21 year anniversary. I wouldn’t recommend it overpriced and not very good experience a manager shouldn’t come drunk to the table and be upset at a customer and he tells me you should’ve let us know that everything was cold. I said I didn’t want to complain, but I asked the server to leave my lobster on a warmer and he told me no he didn’t even ask to replace it with my steak and it’s a combo. He said well I’m sorry that’s the only thing I could do just not caring for their customers. That’s the way I felt.
