On December 5, 2013, Golden Gate Hotel & Casino celebrated 80 years since the dark days of Prohibition by fittingly renaming our original casino bar, “Bar Prohibition!”
Throughout its long history, this original Golden Gate bar had operated under many guises. These included a Wild West watering hole on the last frontier, a place for the wild women of the roaring 20s to let loose, and a whiskey-washed hangout frequented by Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin during the Rat Pack era.
The Golden Gate Hotel & Casino has been partying since 1906 and Bar Prohibition! continues the legacy that spans more than a century.
Customers generally enjoyed the food, noting it was fresh and tasty, although there were some complaints about specific items being cold or not prepared correctly.
Customer Service
Service quality was inconsistent; while some staff were praised for being friendly and helpful, others were reported as rude or indifferent.
Cleanliness
The restaurant was frequently described as clean, with positive remarks about the overall hygiene and condition of the facility.
Coupon Issues
Several customers expressed frustration over the refusal to accept coupons and issues with online orders, leading to dissatisfaction.
Operational Hours
There were complaints about unclear operational hours and being turned away before closing time.
