About

Mexican Restaurant
The dead come to life at Borracha. With decorative and festival skulls watching over guests, Borracha, located in Green Valley Ranch, is as dangerous as you want it to be. With a nod toward the famed Day of the Dead, the Borracha offers Mexican-inspired dishes and features a drink menu with an abundance of cervezas, tequila and specialty cocktails to take the edge off. The menu is as seductive as the surroundings, featuring sharable plates, inventive burritos and entrees that would make any skeleton want come back to life. Made-from- scratch tortillas and addictive tacos featuring rotisserie chicken, slow-cooked short ribs and fresh Baja fish gives your palate and explosion of flavor. A hand-painted floor and wraparound mural brings life to the intimate lounge and brings a festive vibe to the celebratory space.

We often go to Borracha, as it's one of the very few nonsmoking poker bars in Henderson/Vegas. GVR used to have an excellent nonsmoking area, but butchered it down to basically a few machines near the coffee shop, and right next to live bingo and all of the chain smokers there. This makes Borracha a very pleasant alternative for those of us who don't smoke. Currently, there are 4 bartenders. K.C, Amanda, Bianca, and Natalia. They all do an amazing job. They remember the names and favorite drinks of all the regulars. Very pleasant staff all around. Dom and David, the two managers do a great job of making sure all of the people dining are being well taken care of. I can't give a 5 for the food, as it's consistently good, but frankly it's never been amazing. I like the green enchiladas and the Relleno, but I keep hoping the chef comes up with some specials to spice things up a bit. My wife likes the Posole, but it's a coin flip on whether or not there will be a generous portion of meat, or it's just basically broth. The last two times, she said it was perfect though. The big draw for me though, are the bartenders. If you are the chatty sort, they are glad to chat with you all night, if business allows. And if you just want to gamble and get your game on, they'll ensure you have your cocktail of choice, but they won't lean on your machine. Anyways, prices are fair, expect to fork out about 50 -75 for dinner for 2, 50 without cocktails. It's clean, organized and usually well-staffed. I go often. It's a very pleasant place to play video keno or video poker.

This place is so cool, I’d definitely recommend it, it’s inside the casino and it’s a good vibe to hang out with friends or sit at the bar. It is kinda loud so I wouldn’t recommend it for a quiet date night. I got a drink, guac and two orders of the BBQ chicken tamales. THEY WERE AMAZINGGGGGG. Now it’s not the traditional tamales and they are really small but they load them up. They were so good I had to order another round of them. However, I do think it was on the pricier side though, so pay attention to that. Would I absolutely go again, the food was genuinely good, everything I took a bite of was absolutely delicious. Visit this place if you’re ever in the area. You will not regret it. It does get busy though, so I would say play it safe and make a reservation. If not depending on the day, there is a possibility that you might wait in line.

Honestly shocked at how far Borracha at Green Valley Ranch has gone downhill. My family and I used to come here 2-3 times a month since they first opened, but after this experience we won't be back. We stood at the front for almost 15 minutes with nobody acknowledging us. My wife finally practically walked toward the kitchen asking if anyone was even working, and one of the bussers looked confused and asked where the hostess was. Turns out the hostess had been sitting hidden in a booth on her phone the entire time before finally getting up. She then told us there was a 10-15 minute wait for a table, despite there being at least 10 clearly open tables right in front of us. To make things easier, we agreed to just sit at the bar but asked for it to be wiped off since it was covered in food. In response the hostess looked at us with a disgusted smug look, like I asked her to do something that's not her job. Then it somehow got even worse. We finally sat down at the bar for another 15 minutes, while two bartenders completely ignored us the entire time. No greeting, no "be right with you," nothing, not even a water. Avoided eye contact the entire time but served the people around us. It honestly felt intentional by the end of it. For a place we used to genuinely enjoy and support regularly as locals, this was unbelievably disappointing. Service has completely fallen apart and the atmosphere feels nothing like it used to.
