  Amazing bbq! Been used to smaller and drier meals. I ordered BBQ wings, and they were steaming before me! Thick wings, great sweet and 'smokey' flavor, and juicy! Great culture and service! Good sense of humor too! Respect! Building was a little small, but that's how businesses build up. Lets build it up!

  My husband and I visited New Mexico on a 45th anniversary trip. We are from South Texas. We read their reviews, and decided to try them out. We ordered jerk chicken and brisket. He absolutely loved the jerk chicken, but it was a little too spicy for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the brisket. The potato salad and the mac and cheese was soooo delicious. The onion rings and baked beans were good, also. When we left, the owner gave us a peach cobler for dessert when he found out we were there for our anniversary. I wish they were closer to home. We would visit often.

  The only thing we enjoy more than good food is GOOD PEOPLE!!! Smokey Sensations has both! We had ordered from DoorDash a few times but decided to skip the fees, and I'm so glad we did—the in-person experience was phenomenal. Christopher, the owner, couldn't be nicer, and Gene is a breath of comedic fresh air. A fun bonus is that we share similar roots; I represent Queens while they were raised in Brooklyn. The food is New Orleans-level delicious—where is Keith Lee when you need him? Our children live in Alamogordo, so please, Christopher, consider opening a Smokey's II there because you would be the best, just like you are in Cruces! We ordered fall-off-the-bone oxtails and ribs. We couldn't finish the large portions, and I didn't even touch my sides of collard greens and potato salad, nor our peach cobbler and sweet potato pie, which we plan to devour today! The prices are low considering the generous portions, taste, and quality of the food. Beyond soul food, there's a wide variety on the menu. The indoor dining area is quaint, with plenty of outdoor seating and parking available. Being a Black-owned establishment is a DOUBLE BONUS!!! We have officially claimed "repeat customer" status and look forward to our next visit.

  We stopped in for a bite from out of town and the food was amazing. We tried their burgers, teriyaki bowls, jerk chicken, and fish. All of us left smiling and full. But as good as the food was, their customer service to everyone that walked through the door was the best. Easily a place we would visit regularly if we lived here. I'm definitely drinking the Kool-aid on this joint.

  Received the wrong take out order. I paid for brisket & chicken (2 meat platter) brisket was missing only got the chicken. My daughter got the Korean ribs, her order was good, but the portions are small for the price about $60 for 2 meals. The order was to go, we don't live in Las Cruces by the time we realized what we got, we were too far to go back. They should check their orders correctly, they weren't even busy at the time of our visit smh.
