  This was the first time eating here. There's always that good customer service. But this was actually awesome customer service, we were greeted when entering and, was even checked on during our meal, and after our meal. Kenneth did a awesome job and staff/ team as well. Great customer service not only with us, but to see that all the customers around us received the same awesome customer service keep up the great work. Dine in service was on point thank you 😊

  It's typically faster to order through the takeout window vs. door dash. Communication still got lost as far as the kind of salsa I wanted. I tried their new stuffed Queso Blanco (and chicken) Quesadilla think Crunch wrap but better. It was a little salty but good with the salsa fresca.

  I'm a huge fan of El Pollo Loco. I've eaten at locations from Denver to Utah to San Diego, and many places in between. Unfortunately, the Albuquerque location has been a major disappointment. The chicken is consistently dry and nothing like what I've experienced at other El Pollo Loco restaurants. I keep hoping it will improve, but every visit has been the same. It's very disappointing because I know how good El Pollo Loco can be. To the owner: I would suggest focusing on improving the quality and consistency of the food before expanding to additional locations. Based on my experience, the chicken at the Albuquerque restaurant is consistently overcooked and dry, which is very different from the excellent food I've had at other El Pollo Loco locations. I know your brand is capable of much better, and I hope this location can meet the same standards.

  Like I say with all of my reviews this is solely my opinion. I used to eat at El Pollo Loco before they went away. When I heard they were opening a location in Albuquerque, I was quite excited. I know that with any newly opening business there will be "hiccups" in the beginning so I waited. I decide to go today. First, is like to say how clean and well kept the restaurant is. I know it's new, but you can tell there is a sense of pride as well. Second, it was comfortable to be inside. Many places are struggling to keep their places cool in this hot weather. It was very comfortable!! Now to the food. There Queso loaded quesadilla was very satisfying. Great flavor, easy to eat and filling. I would like for it to have a bit of chili heat in the queso itself. I think of be better. I'm not complaining, though. The chicken was tender and moist with nice bite sized pieces. You didn't need to dig looking for them. The chicken avocado taco, well, flavor wise it was great!! Since I got it to go, it steamed itself in the foil and the tortilla shell became soggy. I was bummed about that. It is a flour tortilla. The fresh Pico is good, but very mild. I'm not saying this because I eat hot/spicy food, heartburn doesn't allow me to. I say this because it is what it is. Now, normally I wouldn't mention beverages, but the iced tea is really good. Was it just today? I don't know, but it was well brewed. Not strong, not weak, not old, just right! I'm closing, was it like it used to be? Honestly, I don't remember. I will go back and i do recommend. A side note, don't try to compare El Pollo Loco to any other chicken joint or Mexican fast food place. They are their own and this is why like them. Another option that is good and satisfying.

  The food is good. Nothing to rave about. The service, some of the worst I have ever experienced. Wasn't acknowledged for several minutes, when I was a young lady I'm assuming was the manager yelled "welcome in!" Very loudly but offered no service, just went about her business. Stood there for another 5 minutes before some other young woman just started staring at me, so I assumed she was offering assistance, so I told her I was here for pickup. She whispered something and walked away. Another 4 minutes and she walks over and puts food on the counter without a word. Luckily I know my name and saw it at the top of the receipt. Missing the drink, same young lady looked at me like I was an idiot before I pointed at it on the receipt, again she whispered and walked off, 3 minutes later she comes back and puts down a drink without anything else. I make a feeble attempt at thanking the staff and of course was not acknowledged it the slightest. They sure do know how to stop people from returning.
