I had the pecan pesto and some awesome wine that the server suggested. The food was delicious! I did have a couple of issues, though. The first problem was that when we first arrived, we were not addressed right away. We stood around with some other people while the host kept walking away. Another thing I noticed is that no one was wearing name tags and did not introduce themselves. While we were eating, a couple walked into the area where we were seated. They looked a little lost, but no one was offering any assistance. They approached a staff member who was cleaning a booth and informed her that they needed a table. Instead of helping them or walking back to the host station with them, she told them they needed to go back up front. She wasn't totally rude, but she was slightly dismissive, as if that wasn't her job. Our waitress was awesome and I would mention her name, but no one has name tags.🤷🏽♀️

We were passing through on a long road trip and decided to stop here for a nice meal. We had our very calm cat with us in a carrier and couldn’t safely leave her in the car.
Unfortunately, we were met with a very unwelcoming attitude and were refused a table inside. We were offered a table outside in the sun instead, which was not what we expected at all. We’ve traveled with our cat many times and have never experienced such unfriendly treatment.
Very disappointing experience. Not pet-friendly and unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend this place.

Very disappointing experience. They refused to allow us in with our cat, even though she was secured in a carrier and we explained that she is an emotional support animal. The staff was completely unwilling to even discuss the situation.

D.H. Lescombes Winery & Bistro - Alamogordo
August 6, 2026
Joe and I visited D.H. Lescombes on Thursday, August 6, 2026, during a trip to town for a medical appointment. We were seated immediately with no wait, and the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming.
Our waitress, Jasmine, was fantastic — beautifully groomed with a genuinely sweet smile, she made us feel well cared for throughout the meal. Service was attentive and warm.
I ordered the Mongolian chicken, which was delicious. Joe had a salad topped with steak, also very good. We both tried their wine flights — I chose the red, Joe the mixed selection. Both were quite good, showcasing the winery's quality offerings.
Everything about this visit hit the mark: excellent food, outstanding service, superb wine, and no hassle getting in. Highly recommended.

The food was meh... I mean, it seemed like the "fancy" place in this town. The service wasn't great, the server seemed annoyed to be serving. The bartender took forever to get "beers" not even make drinks, and the server kept stoppi g at our table and saying.. "have you not got your drinking yet." I couldnt tell if it was a rhetorical compulsion they literally didnt realize nobody else decided to bring our drinks to us, or they just couldnt remember that they never brought them...
I got the New Mexico Pasta. So much potential, the chili flavor was minimal... it was almost like eating butter noodles with a subtle green chili flavor peaking out from behind a door, with a sly smile before it goes away. The heat... dissapointing.... I wanted that NM fire, a chili pasta come on...
Then I rounded out the night with the creme brulee. The taste wasn't bad, but it was incredibly grainy... i dont even understand, but it was like eating a bowl of white sands custard. Not ideal. Im a brulee fanatic and I want a smooth creme!
The only redeeming quality was the beer was good...
