It all started in 1949 when Grandpa Izzy (who emigrated from Poland in 1937) opened a wholesale bagel store in the Bronx, NY. All four of his sons worked there, learning the trade. One of his sons, Artie Goldberg, opened a bagel store in Westwood, NJ in 1965. For years, the family worked seven days a week in the store, including Barbara Goldberg – who is now 92 years old!!! – as well as Terry, Marc, and Howie – his kids. Fast forward to today, and the family still runs the Westwood store, as well as many others in NJ, NY, and PA.
