Big Swerve and his wife, the boss lady, made us feel like we were apart of the family. The food: flawless. I had a beef rib that may actually have been taken from a T-Rex. the flavor, tenderness, are something only a true pit master could accomplish. Phenomenal. Everything from the meats, to the sides, to the deserts was five stars. Can’t thank them enough for an epic meal!!

I’d buy a barrel full of them. I feel like my stomach just got a big, warm, friendly hug. Can’t wait to order again

The brisket and pulled pork was tasteless and dry. The macaroni and cheese was dry , as well. One tray of cornbread was stuck to pan. We did buy 3 bottles of bbq sauce; but both were too spicy for most of my guests(40people) Unfortunately I allowed myself to be upsold by the owner’s raves about the food. Lots of leftovers and not one item was really delicious😢

Years ago I used to stop by when they were cooking out of the trailer behind the VFW in Woodbury, and I always loved the food. Somehow I never made it to the new restaurant until now, and all I can say is… this is the best barbecue I’ve ever had. The first surprise was the restaurant itself. I knew they had outdoor seating, but I had no idea they also had such a beautiful indoor dining room. It’s clean, spacious, and a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal. We were taken care of by a wonderful young lady named V, who was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. My wife and I split a full slab of ribs, and they were absolutely perfect—smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. We also ordered the mac & cheese and the Mean Beans. I honestly thought “Mean Beans” were going to be green beans! I normally don’t even like baked beans, but these completely changed my mind. They were outstanding. And the cornbread? Without exaggeration, it was the best cornbread I’ve ever had. It’s always great to see a local business grow from a small trailer into a beautiful restaurant without sacrificing the quality that made people love them in the first place. If you’re anywhere near Westville, do yourself a favor and stop at Big Swerve’s. I can honestly say it’s the best barbecue I’ve ever eaten, and I’ll definitely be back.

Right away, the hospitality stood out. The entire Swerve team made me feel genuinely welcome, and you can tell they care about both the food and the people they serve. The portions are incredibly generous, so come hungry! The brisket was unbelievably tender, the pulled pork was packed with flavor, and their signature BBQ sauce was outstanding. The Mean Beans completely surprised me—in the best way. I'm Asian, and I'd never tasted beans with flavor like that before. They were seriously memorable. I was also lucky enough to try the ribs, which had the perfect balance of tenderness and sauce. The sweet potato and mac & cheese were both delicious too, but honestly, there was so much food I couldn't finish everything. Huge shoutout to the Swerve team—they're doing it right. Great food, great people, and an all-around awesome experience. If you're anywhere near Westville, NJ, do yourself a favor and check out Big Swerve's BBQ!
