Well it doesn't matter now because they've closed for good tonight, but we did go on the last night they were open which was kind of cool. Years ago the food was great but tonight? Eh, the fish was all overdone and the appetizers were just OK. Although we've loved it there over the years it's clear an update is needed. Let's see what comes out of the renovation next year. We don't eat red meat but if the seafood goes back to the quality it was we'll be back. So long Chart House!

Waiter, manager, and food were all incredible. on the other hand host was not pleasant as she attempted to cancel our 8 person reservation for being 20 minutes late which was only 5 minutes over the 15 minute policy due to traffic. We had even called an hour in advance to inform her of this. We were accommodated by a lovely manager. Experience once we got in the restaurant was flawless so I have no choice but to review 5 stars. Despite the hassle the experience made up for it.

I came to the Chart house on Mother’s Day with a party of 6. I asked ahead of time TWICE to make sure that we could order off the pre fixed menu because someone in the party is a vegetarian. They told me that we could, so I figured no issues. When we arrived, we were told by our very accommodating waiter that we can only order off the pre fixed menu. When we received the food, I was disappointed because the mashed potato’s weren’t the same as they usually are whenever I went. It had the skin in it and were dry. Then the surf and turf was disappointing. The steak was flat and the shrimp seemed to be almost boiled? It had no flavor.. just disappointed because it wasn’t how it is usually served at this establishment. If I had known that the food was going to be completely different than how they typically serve then I would’ve simply spent my money elsewhere. It was a party of 6, so the bill was quite expensive for food that I was Alittle disappointed in. Other than that, the waiter was amazing and the views are always beautiful.

NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. My boyfriend booked an anniversary dinner for us at 7:30pm. He was in constant contact with the establishment and made them aware that with him being a police officer, he was getting out of work a little later than planned and asked if he could push his reservation back to 8:30pm. The manager on the phone, I did not get his name, he’s a tall black man that worked the desk on 5/8/25.. told him.. “we don’t do that”.. so my boyfriend asked if he could Atleast check to see if there was any availability, and he kept telling him no. My boyfriend left work, in his uniform, TO CHARTHOUSE which is a 30+ minute drive from us, arrived and was TOLD by the manager that his reservation was cancelled. Us both in shock because we kept OPEN communication with the restaurant about our whereabouts, STILL DENIED. We were 5 minutes over the “15 minute grace period” The manager showed not ONE ounce of care. Do you think my boyfriend wanted to show up to our ANNIVERSARY DINNER IN HIS POLICE UNIFORM? No. Of course he didn’t. WE KEPT OPEN COMMUNICATION WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT. It’s our ANNIVERSARY DINNER. And that’s how we were treated. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. They’re non caring. We took our business ELSEWHERE in edgewater and were treated with KINDNESS, CARE AND HOSPITALITY. This is something “charthouse” could learn a thing or two about. The manager needs training in etiquettes and bedside manager. He barely maintained eye contact with us even when TRYING to give us an explanation. Ridiculous.

I have been visited this Chart House multiple times, often bringing special guests here because I trusted the quality of both the food and the service. However, my recent visit with a group of five was disappointing. Despite booking weeks in advance, we were tucked away in a cramped corner. At first, I assumed it was to keep the walkways clear for a larger group, but my heart sank when I saw another group of six being seated at a prime window-side table an hour later. It became clear that our seating wasn't a matter of logistics, but something else. Furthermore, the service lacked the professional touch I’ve come to expect here. While our server was polite in speech, his actions were jarring—almost sliding spoons across the table as if he was serving shots at a dive bar. In a pub, that might be fine, but at Chart House, I expect a certain level of finesse. My guests enjoyed their time, which is the only reason I’m giving three stars instead of fewer, but as a returning customer who has seen how good this place can be, this experience was confusing and disheartening. I hope the management looks into their seating priority and service standards.
