  Today at around 7:40 PM, I was at Stop & Shop using the self-checkout. I asked the employee assisting the self-checkout area for help because I had entered the wrong code for the potatoes, and the price came up higher than it should have. Unfortunately, the way she spoke to me came across as very rude and dismissive. I don’t believe there was any need to treat a customer that way. I live at 1026 Stuyvesant Avenue, so this Stop & Shop is my neighborhood grocery store. I shop here all the time, and I have always had wonderful experiences with the staff. Everyone has always been friendly, helpful, and respectful. This was the first time I had seen this employee, and it was also the first time I had such an unpleasant interaction. I know this is not the level of customer service that I usually experience at Stop & Shop, which is why I wanted to share this feedback. My intention is not to get anyone in trouble I simply hope this can be used as a reminder that treating customers with kindness and respect makes a big difference. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. I truly appreciate it.

  Worst experience at a Stop & Shop. I have shopped at many other locations, but this was my first time at the Union store, and it will likely be my last. We stopped in to grab ingredients for a homemade pizza night. We bought a package of Jus-Rol pizza dough, took it home, and prepared it. It wasn’t until I was literally throwing the wrapper into the trash that I happened to look at the expiration date and realized it had expired two full months ago. This is absolutely ridiculous and a major health hazard. For a refrigerated, perishable item to be left on the shelves for eight weeks past its expiration date, means the department is completely neglecting to renew their stock.

  Had everything I needed and then some. I am from the Midwest so maybe I am just used to conversation at a check out. The cashier was not rude, just very down to business.
