Very Disappointing Customer Service Experience I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but I feel this experience needs to be addressed. I’m a local business owner and recently moved to the area. I’ve been to this McDonald’s several times and, until this incident, have generally received very courteous and welcoming service. I believe this location is owned by the Chapman family, and I’ve always had a positive impression of their restaurants. On August 6th around 4:00 PM, my son placed a pickup order in his name. We picked it up through the drive-thru and spent approximately $68 on food for our family. After leaving, we realized we had forgotten drinks. Since we’re trying to reduce our soda intake, we decided to get water instead. The drive-thru was very backed up, so I went inside to order the water. At the kiosk, we selected the waters and noticed they were showing as free. We didn’t simply assume that was correct. We asked an employee who was passing by, and she confirmed that yes, the water was free. So we proceeded with the order. When I went to the counter to pick up the water, an individual who appeared to be from the corporate office based on their attire and interaction with the staff spoke to me in a way that was extremely rude and disrespectful. I was questioned about whether I had come inside just to get water without buying anything and was told, “We have people like you coming here all the time, getting water and not buying anything.” That was particularly upsetting because I had literally just spent approximately $68 at the restaurant. I had not come in looking for something free. I was already a paying customer, the drive-thru was backed up, and I followed the restaurant’s own kiosk and confirmed with an employee that the water was free. If there was a policy against complimentary water, I would have had no problem being told that respectfully. What happened next was even more concerning. This individual turned to the staff and instructed them: “Make sure you take this off the kiosk so we don’t have people coming here and getting any water. Take it off the kiosk now.” They then reprimanded the staff for allowing customers to receive the water. I have worked in corporate environments for 22 years, and I understand the importance of professionalism, leadership, and proper training. If this individual was from the corporate office, I sincerely hope the Chapman family looks into this interaction. Corporate representatives should be setting the example for customer service and professionalism, not speaking to customers this way or reprimanding employees over a situation that could have been handled politely. To be clear, this review is not about the water. I would have been perfectly fine paying for it if I had been told it wasn't complimentary. It is about the way I was spoken to and made to feel after being a paying customer. The phrase “people like you” was especially concerning. Language like that can make a customer feel singled out, stereotyped, or treated differently, and businesses need to be extremely careful about how customers are addressed. I’ve had good experiences at this location before, which is why this was so disappointing. I hope the Chapman family or appropriate management reviews what happened on August 6th around 4:00 PM, including who was present and the instructions given to staff regarding the kiosk and water. This was never about getting free water. It was about respect, professionalism, and how a paying customer was treated.

There is a worker there who is training to be the manager of the store, but I have to tell you that she filled up our food and left it sitting on the counter for somebody else to take it out. We were at curbside if she is applying to be manager maybe you guys need to think twice before hiring Kayla as a manager because to me she doesn’t sound like the manager I want working at that store
