I used to live in LA near Erewhon which is generally considered the most expensive, yet Kings in Summit NJ is around 20-30% more expensive! It’s insane! At least at Erewhon you get great service and the best quality products, at Kings it’s typically one person on the register and a watered down version of Wholefoods in terms of selection. As an example, Harmless Harvest at WholeFoods is $10, at Erewhon it’s 13 and at Kings it’s 16! It’s the same with any other product there. It’s not as though there rent is expensive in that area of town. They just rip your lights out knowing they have a monopoly in Summit. Someone should open another small supermarket and do it better. It wouldn’t be hard to……
