Came here to celebrate a birthday and honestly, there was nothing really to write home about. It was maybe mid or below mid tasting food. The hummus was super pasty and not appetizing at all, and the falafel balls were really dry and also overfried. We also got the mixed grill platter, the chicken Adana and the chicken kabab pieces were decent but the lamb gyro and kofte kabab had a strong meaty smell. The complementary bread and the sauces and olive oil they gave in the beginning of the meal were very tasty. The chocolate soufflé cake with ice cream was good but The ice cream it was paired with it was tasting very much like freezer burn. No doubt the ambience of this place is amazing and the staff works really hard to give a great experience and it definitely gives elegant vibes but most of the time when the place is various aesthetic very few times the food matches the ambience and this was not the case here. All in all, not a bad experience, but I just wish the quality of the food would match the price as well

Visited for dinner with my wife on a Sunday evening to celebrate wedding anniversary. Food was overall good. Service could be better as I asked for some extra spicy sauce and the waiter didnt bring it at all. He didnt even apologize which alI didnt appreciate. Also the environment is extremely loud to a point where you really have to shout to have a conversation across the 2 person table. Not recommended for a quiet romantic meal. Good for a family or a group. Music should also be changes as it currently plays pop American music which is a bit strange for a Turkish restaurant.

When you entered Avora, you were transported into a magical Mediterranean village. We only had apps here because we were doing a dine around Somerville. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary bread & sauce. We all split the vine leaves, feta cigars, shrimp tempura & fried cheese and watermelon. All of them were outstanding, especially their accompaniments! We will definitely stay for dinner next time…xoxo

This is a beautiful restaurant with delicious Turkish food, and we’ve always enjoyed the quality of the meals. However, I feel it’s important to mention an issue we’ve experienced on multiple occasions. While the staff is always polite and well mannered, the service becomes a significant problem during larger events. We’ve attended four events here with more than 10 guests, and every single time it has taken around two hours for the main dishes to be served. The appetizers are brought out promptly, but waiting that long for the main course is simply unacceptable. After experiencing this same issue four different times, it’s clear this isn’t a one time occurrence. We kept hoping the service would improve with the main course being out earlier, but unfortunately it hasn’t. It’s disappointing because this is such a beautiful restaurant with excellent Turkish food, and the long wait times when having larger party size takes away from what could otherwise be a wonderful party dining experience.

I found Avora completely by luck while celebrating a home closing, and I’m so glad I did. The moment I walked in, I genuinely felt like I had been transported somewhere in Europe—almost like a little escape to Greece. The ambiance, the music, the décor… everything came together to create such a beautiful experience. The service was exceptional. A huge thank you to Siyar, who took such great care of us. He was welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable, and made the entire lunch feel special. I ordered the lunch prix fixe menu, and every single bite was delicious. The lemon chicken soup was incredible, the hummus was fresh and full of flavor, and the lamb was cooked perfectly—so tender and absolutely worth ordering. It’s rare to find a place where the atmosphere, food, and service all exceed expectations, but Avora did exactly that. I already can’t wait to come back and experience more of the menu. If you’re thinking about trying this place, do yourself a favor and go. You won’t regret it.
