I rarely make posts like this, but people deserve to know about the experience we had. Also just to add, this was for a business with people on the spectrum - diversity isnt welcome here.
We placed an order through DoorDash, and when it arrived, the entire order was cold. The grilled cheese wasn't even melted, and one of the sandwiches was made incorrectly despite the receipt clearly stating NO mustard. I have the receipt showing the order was supposed to be Swiss cheese, ham, and pickles with no mustard, yet it arrived covered in mustard.
When DoorDash was unable to resolve the issue, we contacted the restaurant directly. The person who answered was the owner. He told us the order would be remade and ready in 25 minutes, so we drove back to pick it up.
What happened next was unbelievable.
After telling us to come back for a replacement order, the owner proceeded to berate us when we arrived. Instead of apologizing for the mistake, he raised his voice, became hostile, claimed he had put mustard all over everything, and told us to never come back to his store. We did exactly what he instructed us to do, only to be treated with complete disrespect.
As someone who has worked in the food industry and manage multiple businesses, I understand that mistakes happen. Every restaurant gets an order wrong from time to time. What matters is how you handle it. In all my years of business, I have never seen an owner treat paying customers with such hostility and contempt.
To make matters worse, the food itself was terrible. The tomato soup tasted like canned soup that wasn't even heated properly, and the "$10 grilled cheese" was little more than two slices of bread with barely melted cheese.
Cold food, incorrect orders, and poor quality are one thing. Being yelled at and insulted by the owner for trying to have the restaurant correct its own mistake is another.
We will never spend another dollar at this establishment. If this is how ownership treats customers, I cannot recommend giving them your business. There are plenty of local restaurants that value their customers and deserve your support far more than this one.
Oh and a P.S. to the ignorant owner, here is the receipt that states no mustard!
