Delicious! We stopped by for lunch today and tried the pani puri, chicken tikka bowl, masala fries and iced masala chai.. everything was so good & flavorful! The portions were also pretty big! My kid really enjoyed everything (“best masala fries” he’s ever had!) We got a masala grill sandwich to go & can’t wait to try it later. Staff was also so polite. Definitely recommend!
Such a fun take on Indian street food, from chaat and samosas to naan tacos, roti rolls, Mumbai grill and some seriously tempting desserts. But what made the visit even better was the hospitality. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the owner was an absolute pleasure to meet. You can tell there’s so much heart behind this place. And as a Desi girl, I LOVE seeing our food and flavors presented in a way that feels fun, approachable and still celebrates what makes Indian street food so good. Definitely coming back because there are way too many things on this menu I still need to try.
The food was the worst I have ever tested for Indian food in the 25 years of my life in NJ! I would give Zero star, if possible!
Nowhere in the entire India vinegar caramelized onions are put, that too in big pieces, in the Bhaji of Pav Bhaji! Nobody puts the lemon piece directly in the Bhaji! These items are given on the side and the onions are always raw onion not caramelized onions! The Bhaji is absolutely sour…you will definitely clinch your eyes with every bite! It’s a shane for street food Pav Bhaji! And they change $17 for it, absolute waste of money!
The vada in Vada Pav is almost the size of a Gulab Jamun or Rasgulla! And for that they charge $11! Pathetic!
$5 for a cutting chai portion of Salty Chhaas! Not even the smaller soda cans! Sarvanabhavan gives it better for the money they charge!
Portions are as if they are doing you a favor by giving food! Absolutely not worth the money!
Nimbu bring modern decor and ambiance to a fast casual / small plates type menu. The restaurant has great design and style throughout. The food is good as well, our favorite was the Vada Pav Sliders. We also had the Samosa Chaat and Butter Chicken tacos which were both good but standard. I didn’t feel like the food blew me away, but I really liked all the options on the menu. I definitely want to stop back in to try their bowls, and even check them out for brunch.
I was really excited to try this new Indian fast-food spot that opened up near me, so I came with my family and cousins. I love the idea of modernizing Indian street food, and the aesthetic/decor of the restaurant was definitely a highlight. The concept is creative and I appreciate the effort put into bringing a different style of Indian food to the area.
Unfortunately, my overall experience was a bit underwhelming. The service could definitely use some improvement. The person taking our order seemed very tired and uninterested, and we had to remind them about missing items. We also noticed other customers having similar issues. It felt more like a self-service experience because we had to keep getting up ourselves for napkins and utensils, and we were even told to use the wipes to clean up dirty tables ourselves. One of the pink chair cushions was wet and ended up soaking/staining my family member’s pants, which was disappointing.
The food took a while to come out. As for the food itself, it was okay — not terrible, but it didn’t fully meet our expectations. We love Indian street food and have had some really great versions before, so we were hoping for stronger flavors. The butter chicken tacos were probably my favorite item. The pani puri was a little too sour for our taste, and the Indian-style lemonade was also quite sour. We wanted to try the Maggi, but were told it was only available during the lunch menu, and another item we wanted was unavailable.
I do think the restaurant has a lot of potential. The idea of bringing modern Indian street food to the area is exciting, and the atmosphere is fun. However, for the price point (around $16.99 for a lot of the items), I personally felt the value didn’t match the experience.
Overall, I’m glad I tried it, but based on my first visit, I’m not sure if I would return. I hope they continue improving because the concept itself is really cool and has a lot of potential.
