This recipe for success was created by founder and current day majority owner Eugene R. Alvarez. In 1982, Mr. Alvarez (a.k.a. Ramiro) opened the 1st El Pollo Supremo in the agricultural town of Oxnard, CA. Following an immediate positive response for having the healthiest and more flavorful chicken, he was joined by three friends. Together they set out to expand to new locations. By 1984, the original restaurant had been sold and the first New Jersey Location was established.
