Food is very good and fresh. However, as I arrived on 7/28/26 at about 4:20pm, the only counter person was on a personal call and would not hang up the phone as I was (not so) patiently waiting. I gave up. If I ever act the same towards my clients - totally dismissive towards them and with this kind of attitude - my business will definitely flunk. Be careful with the employees you choose. They can make or break your business.

This place is located adjacent to Penn Station Newark, right across the street, and can be accessed through an above ground gateway (so you are completely under cover for the entire journey). So, the location is prime if you are in need of waiting for a train. There are seating areas in the restaurant ... as well as a lobby area just a few feet away. And it is relatively quiet compared to the hustle and bustle of the train station. On to the food ... quite good. I went for the Chicken Gyro. I happen to get it as it was freshly carved off the spit. Yum! I paired it with some fries and a soda. Exactly what I wanted. And then, as mentioned previously, a comfortable place to sit and wait for my train.

First timer here and I was truly disappointed with my bowl as the rice portion were less than Chipotle. I only got to pick two salad toppings, got 2 potatoes. Wish, I spent money some where else for $17.01 please refund me or let me try again. But my first time experience was wack.

The rating is based on the price change, doesn't really feel worth it anymore. With an additional limit on toppings, (limit 2) overall raise in price and an extra charge on toppings $18+ for a bowl doesn't feel like a bargain, for that price I can go to the other restaurants at the Gateway.
