  5/16/26 Sat night dinner with friends. Good food. Great service. Extra brownie points for namaz arrangement. Good gyro. Street parking isn't bad around that time. Loved the decorative, circular wall plaque showcasing the official coat of arms of the Ottoman Empire and the other Ottoman decor!

  The food is always amazing! I only critique I would give them is on their pita bread when you order takeout it’s dry and stale but everything else is amazing!!

  Effes is definitely a staple in New Brunswick and finally had the chance to come back after 5 years. The man who took our order was absolutely lovely but I don’t know why the server just didn’t care to give us the time of day but was attentive to every table. At one point when we were ready for boxes and the check she was standing infront of us just on her phone and we kept trying to get her attention while she went to other tables but it was just hard to get a hold of her and mind you there were only three other tables of smaller parties around us. The man who took our order was amazing when we wanted to do customizations of our food. I was able to make an entree with one lamb Adana and one chicken Adana. The lamb Adana was absolutely amazing and mouth watering but the chicken Adana was a bit tough. We also got the Ezme that also tasted divine with the bread and our entrees. Glad to see the food quality has still remained and hopefully the quality service does the same as well. Can’t wait to try the lamb Adana again!

  The service and food never disappoints . Portions and prices are to be expected not to reflect 2003 and to reflect the current economy . I do miss the book format menu they used to have and feel like there was more to pick from . As for atmosphere, if it wasn’t for a couple on a date, sitting two tables over spilling their darkest secrets. The piano lounge music playing over the speakers would have put us to sleep. Just like the book format menu, I miss hearing Sezen Aksu and Barish Manco coming out of those speakers.

  If you’re looking for Greek food. This IS NOT IT. The first red flag was me the host telling me it came with a spicy(??) sauce and yougurt sauce on the side. I asked “tzatziki” to which she replied “some people call it that”. UHHH??? Also there were 0 Santorini pictures or Greek flags. Should’ve walked out right then and there. All gyros I’ve eaten are placed on a folded pita, not inside of it. The food was fine, but not the delicious chicken gyro I was hoping for. No traditional flavors, I could’ve made this at home. Wouldn’t recommend this place for authentic Mediterranean or Greek food.
