- CMCree McGeeSep 21, 20261.0Went for my fiance’s bday dinner with a reservation. The restaurant was dead on a Sunday night with only 2 other tables and a few people seated at the bar. It still took our waitress 15 minutes to greet our table and take our order. The appetizers were large portions, but it was very clearly bar food. Frozen food heat up to look fancy. We had the cauliflower, tuna nachos and artichoke dip. There was a HAIR in our cauliflower!! All of it was horribly tasting, and even the water which came in a filtered carafe tasted like tap. All of the reviews were great so we were shocked. We got up to find our waitress who never even came back to the table to ask how the food was and couldn’t find her. Went to the front desk and nobody was there to speak to or ask for a manager. We finally found our waitress who barely acknowledged our concerns or dislike, closed out our tab, canceled our entrees and left. She didn’t even offer to take a single thing off the bill that we left untouched, or find a manager. Service was piss poor, food was 1/10. Location is in the middle of several motels, super 8 and hotels, we should’ve known better to expect high end. Over priced bar food. Would NOT recommend for any special occasions, I probably wouldn’t even come back for a late night drunk meal.
- AWAlan WalkerSep 17, 20264.0A couple years back we gave Monterey Grill a try and ever since it has been our go to place for special occasions. The food and service is always excellent. Just recently though they made some changes to their menu that we are not thrilled about; hence the loss of a star. There are a few popular items they removed which we got all the time like the Lobster Buccatini and Bisque and that was a disappointment, but the biggest surprise on our last visit was that they were now charging $9 for bread. At a high end place like this, that is just ridiculous. Also counter-intuitive because I choose not to get a 2nd cocktail on my last visit because I had no bread to go with it. We are hopeful they will consider reverting some of these decisions. If not we may not be visiting here quite as often as we once used to.
- JJJarell JamesSep 14, 20263.0Very nice and Romantic restaurant, me and my wife went there for our anniversary. The exterior and Interior look really nice and elegant. Our waiter was very mediocre I think his name was David, maybe he was tired or just wasn't feeling it today but seeing the other two waitress handling their tables with enthusiasm and friendliness in comparison with how David was with us was like night and day. He waked to check in the table next to us several time without checking to see if we needed anything else. The Asparagus came out very shriveled and stringy and when we asked him to remove it off our tab since we didnt eat it, he didnt give us a problem about it so that was nice. The appetizers (Sushi and Crab dip) were VERY good, I got the ribeye steak and it was cooked medium like I asked but it was very tough, almost positive it wasnt dry aged at all, my wife got the Cajun Pasta, very Bland. Overall restaurant food was a 6/10, the design of the restaurant was 10/10 and the service was 5/10, they also asked if we are celebrating anything and I told them our anniversary and they didnt bring out and dessert with a candle or anything how most other restaurants do, it was just odd that they asked what we're celebrating lol.
- LCLaysa CallahanAug 15, 20261.0Beautiful restaurant—and unfortunately, that’s about the only positive thing I can say. The food was extremely bland and lacked flavor across the board. The sushi rolls had imitation crab, which was disappointing for a $19. The aged rib had almost no flavor, and the calamari was just as tasteless. My husband ordered the short rib, and he was convinced it wasn’t actually short rib but a different cut of meat. Whatever it was, it was dry and simply covered with sauce. Overall, every dish we ordered was disappointing. The service was even worse. We had to look around for our server just to place our order. She eventually came over, took our order, and then basically disappeared. We barely saw her again for the rest of the meal. At the end, I actually had to go to the front desk to ask to pay because our server was nowhere to be found. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, the food and service did not come close to matching the atmosphere. For the prices they charge, I expected significantly better.
