My friends and I frequent 3-4 times per week. Last week after eating we sat chatting. The place was empty. The owner came over and told us to leave that we had been there too long! I told him it was empty . He insisted we were there too long. Also we should go to the diner. We cater all holidays from there do take out and dine in. Also it’s a half hour drive to get there. I advised him he was making a big mistake. We are telling everyone. It was done in very poor taste.
Few places have proper pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, the way the used to be or should be made, but you can get them here, thankfully. Corned beef on rye, with coleslaw and Russian dressing, if that description gets your mouth watering and you thinking about how those old school delis made them, then you've come to the right place. They have "like grandma used to make" food here, everything is great, especially the soups, roast turkey, omelets, various knishes (try the sweet potato), the list goes on and on. The pickles and salads are of course great too. Recharge your "good old days food" battery here. Our regular go to place and very highly recommended.

waiter was excellent as always. the male by the cashier, who I presumed may have been one of the owners was another story.
We just finished dinner spent just about $200.00 . We then ordered an item to go for $15.00 which he put in a paper bag . We asked for a plastic bag and he raised his voice telling me we already had a bag with our leftovers . The same was already full.
He admonished me telling me these bags are 15 cents. I said but I come here all the time, I just had dinner here.
I never write a negative review, but this guy's behavior was simply unacceptable. Moreover, if he was the owner then for shame on him .
I just don't get it. When did customer service cease and stupidity take control.
This place is not kosher, but their meats are. Love their combination corned beef and pastrami sandwiches (I get them on club bread) as they are overstuffed. My wife and I like their soups.
A friend recommended their freshly sliced to order nova lox. It was thinly sliced and trimmed (unlike the prepackaged machine sliced lox) and was delicious the next day on a bagel with a shmear.
The servers are all great. It's no wonder there can be a wait for a table during their busy times!
We went to pickle herring on Sunday August 2, 2026. My mother and i ordered a overstuffed sandwich to split. We asked the waitress for another thing of coleslaw. The waitresses response to me was its a dollar extra. My mother said to her your actually going to charge me extra for coleslaw, she the said No Im Not My Boss Is..
It's not the dollar, its the principle. I wouldn't give the waitress a tip due to that nor would I refer this restaurant to my family and friends
