  We’ve be to Faubourg a half dozen times over the past years, mainly for occasion dinners. We’ve loved it, but our experience this time was a bit disappointing. For the second time in a row, we’ve been seated upstairs (aka Siberia). Never again. The poor server is made to serve tables on two floors, with all the results you would expect. Also, shrinkflation seeming has set in. The scarcest ingredient in a $25 octopus appetizer? Octopus. A $45 duck confit special? Beautifully plated but only a svelte thigh (unaccompanied by the traditional drumstick). Then there is the interesting case of the of the jack o’lantern dessert: an $18 mandarin-sized ‘bavaroise’ that has plenty of straw and smoke but somehow no flavor. Overall, the food is as delicious as ever; the value proposition isn’t. But then, maybe I wouldn’t be so grumpy if I hadn’t caught a cold in Siberia.

  This place saved us! We had a company dinner set up last minute, and Faubourg took us in the other night without a problem. We were set up in the private room, it felt like VIP status. Hailey was our server… wow! We were a party of 12 and her knowledge of the restaurant/food and ability to keep us entertained was on point! After we went down to the bar, great music! Loved the energy… Alex was the man, that guy kept the drinks coming! I’ve never seen a faster bartender making so many drinks at once. Every drink was perfect. Honestly from the moment you walked in everyone there was wonderful. Definitely doing our holiday party here!

  Love this place! What I enjoy the most is the consistency… brunch, lunch or dinner the food is so incredible. The menu is simple but has such a wide verity. The staff is incredible and always make you feel welcome, you can tell the energy is flowing from the second you walk through the doors! What’s really great about the space that different parts of the restaurant gives you a different experience in ambience, from the outdoor terrace, upstairs lounge, or the massive 2 floor dinning room! If you’re fortunate enough to have Jose take care of you, I promise you he’ll have you smiling and enjoying your self with amazing service. I’ve also been lucky enough to have Kayla help us, she makes you feel like family, she’s very attentive, and gives the best recommendations! She’ll remember you when you come back for seconds!

  Came in on a lovely Saturday for brunch. Despite not having a reservation, we were immediately seated in their greenhouse section, next to the wishing pond. Waitstaff was very friendly and efficient, they offered non alcoholic recommendations for the underage party, a very delicious mango monitor. The bread basket was underwhelming, the butter being better than the actual bread. We decided on the pri fix brunch, each decided to pick different things during each course in order to try them. First course choices were a peach parfait, lovely peach puree with chia pudding, raspberry jam, peach slices. Other choice was an incredible cauliflower soup topped with roasted cauliflower pieces. Second course choices included a Spanish tortilla. It was perfectly cooked with caramelized onions and chorizo, it came with a beautiful frisee and arugula salad. The other guest chose the French toast platter. Thick slices of brioche toast had a cake like texture, sprinkled with almonds and accompanied with berries and whipped cream. We loved our time here and will be back. We are planning to try their restaurant in Weehawken to compare.

  We’ve been here before and had a very positive experience, which is exactly why this visit was so disappointing. Unfortunately, after this experience, we probably won’t be coming back. My wife and I sat at the upstairs bar expecting a nice night out. Instead, the service was shockingly inattentive from beginning to end. We repeatedly had to ask the bartender for drink refills rather than simply being checked on. After ordering multiple appetizers, we ordered a steak and specifically told the bartender that we would be splitting it. The steak arrived on one plate anyway, and apparently providing a steak knife with a steak was also too much to ask. I literally had to request a knife so we could eat the food sitting in front of us. We also ordered potatoes with the steak. Those never showed up because, as it turned out, the order was never even put in. The most ridiculous part was that the barback was more attentive to us than the bartender and the two servers working the area. He was the one who actually seemed to notice when we needed something and made an effort to help. When the barback is providing noticeably better service than the people actually responsible for serving you, there’s a serious problem. None of what we expected was unreasonable. Refill drinks, put in the food order correctly, bring appropriate utensils with the meal, and pay enough attention to your customers that they don't have to continually ask for basic service. We know this restaurant is capable of much better because we’ve experienced it ourselves in the past. But this visit was bad enough that it completely changed our opinion of the place. There are simply too many good restaurants in the area to spend our money somewhere we have to work this hard just to get served. Sadly, based on this last experience, we probably won’t be back.
