  This restaurant used be my go-to place when I wanted beautiful atmosphere, amazing food and good service. It was consistent for years. I recommended it to all my friends. However, in the past year the food has been more miss than hit. Today I ordered the lobster roll and it was very underwhelming. I wish I had taken a photo, but it was served in what seemed to be a brioche hotdog bun from Trader Joe’s, and inside a butternut lettuce leaf under a very small portion of lobster, barely seasoned, with cherry tomatoes cut in half and avocado cut in small pieces. It was hard to believe that this came from Faubourg. The quantity of lobster would not have been an issue, if the seasoning could have made up for it, but It was very bland all around. And, to make things worse, they added small cilantro leaves as garnish. It was easy to remove them, but still, why have cilantro as garnish in a lobster roll? This used to be a place where the whole menu was amazing, but something must have changed. Very disappointing

  My family and I have passed by Faubourg Montclair for years and always admired the beautiful restaurant and said we wanted to patronize. Recently we had the opportunity to and it was a great dining experience! The ambiance was beautiful, our server, Conner was pleasant, personable and attentive! Definitely recommend him! Now to the food and drinks! The food was superb, very fresh! Not overpowering and good size portions. The "Beef Duo" is a dream, the "Salmon and Moroccan Couscous, was devine. The drinks were delicious and refreshing! Loved the "frozen Lemoncello and the expresso martini." Excited to come back and try more of the menu. We were celebrating a family member's birthday and the desserts were delicious as well. The birthday girl truly enjoyed her choosing of this location.

  Faubourg Montclair delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The crab and corn appetizer was absolutely perfect and beautifully presented. What was even more impressive was the flavor. I had the duck confit panini, and the bread was grilled to perfection, adding a wonderful rustic character to the rich, savory duck. The fries were exactly how they should be: crispy on the outside and light and fluffy inside. My wife ordered the lamb gyro, which was expertly prepared with two generous skewers of tender lamb and a substantial portion overall. We especially enjoyed sitting outside in the charming garden, while the interior of the restaurant was equally impressive with its elegant and thoughtfully designed atmosphere. A memorable meal in a beautiful setting.

  Perfect spot for either cocktails and snacks, an intimate dinner, or a celebration with a group of friends. The service is high-touch but not intrusive, the food is creative and well prepared. You can choose between a seat in the atrium or in the main dining room for a different feel (or just eat at the bar.)

  After spending time in Paris & Nice this summer, the Faubourg Montclair was a really disappointing dining experience. The main dining area is almost like sitting in a warehouse with soaring double story ceilings. It misses the finesse of any thing truly French. We ordered a few appetizers to share. The Chickpea Panisse tasted oddly "fishy." The waiter did not know which herbs were used to make the sauce. The Tarte Flambée was soggy and virtually tasteless. Babaganoush, however, was tasty. The waiter forgot our drinks and then was hard to find. We did have great cocktails - a spicy Margarita was quite good. The wine list had some excellent choices. But other than a pre-dinner or late night cocktail, there is no reason to return.
