I've been to this McDonald's several times since moving to Middletown. I've interacted with several employees, especially the young women working there, and they are always friendly, respectful, and greet customers with a smile. They deserve recognition for maintaining a positive attitude despite working in a demanding environment. That said, the service can be slow, and orders are sometimes incorrect. From what I've observed, this seems to be a management and system issue rather than the fault of the employees. The biggest problem is the two-lane drive-thru. McDonald's locations already handle a high volume of customers, and this restaurant is clearly understaffed. Having two drive-thru lanes only increases the pressure on the employees. Instead of focusing on preparing orders efficiently, they're constantly switching between taking orders from both lanes, which slows down the entire process and increases the likelihood of mistakes. The second issue is understaffing. While many McDonald's restaurants face staffing shortages, the best-managed locations adapt and maintain efficient operations. Unfortunately, this location doesn't seem to have the organization or support needed to do that consistently. Overall, I appreciate the employees and the effort they put in every day. My criticism is directed at the system and management If management can't solve the issues caused by the two-lane drive-thru or properly staff the restaurant, then the best solution may be to close this location. Continuing to operate under these conditions only creates a frustrating experience for customers. My recommendation is to simply go to the one at Shrewsbury when is full, because going here will absolutely leave you unsatisfied

The new building is cold and inviting which I could care less I'll just take it home if that's the goal but the people that work there it's amazing they can mess up the order ever time and if I complain the corrected sandwich is cold and crappy so great you messed up my order and are punishing my for asking for what I paid for... Unless I hear that place has been fully restaffed I'll go to Shrewsbury they might be hooligans but the orders are shot on and hot and the fries are crispy... Incredible how much the quality can vary location to location....I completely forgot if you go inside and want to order with a human because it's the only way to get Mac sauce on any burger good luck you have to like start yelling basically..

Worst McDonald's ever. No menu board to see the items. No cashiers to help you. Only slow, difficult to use kiosks. No receipt after ordering. Limited seating despite a huge parking lot. Slow service. Borderline expensive at $11 almost for a chicken sandwich meal. Hot inside on a hot day, where is the air conditioning? No drink fountain, so no refills? Disgusting paper straws. Fries were ok. Chicken sandwich looked sad, tasted ok. I kid you not... I looked, did a doubletake and was in shock.. no menu and no cashiers.. looks like some unfinished wall under construction, like how can we make it look even more ugly inside here? This modernized McDonald's feels like they do not want customers, especially do not want people to order, sit and eat inside. As mentioned above there are no cashiers, no menu board to see items, food, and specials. One long table has 6 chairs but no chair backs to rest on. I can imagine the board meeting where they designed these new modern locations.. "if we remove the menu, get rid of the cashiers, reduce the indoor seating area, get rid of the indoor playground, remove the soda fountain, remove the ketchup/condiments/straws, remove all the happy Ronald McDonald colors and decorations, discontinue McDonald's birthday parties, make the outside look like an ugly grey, colorless rectangle shoebox and make the inside match that new ugly industrial theme... We can then save a boat load of money with zero cashiers and almost no need for employees to clean the dinning room since most guests will no longer feel welcome or comfortable to dine in... Maybe next year we will only allow Uber Eats to come inside and save even more money! Just remove all the seats and tables and just have a giant pickup counter! And yes, someone actually paid a ton of money to modernize this McDonalds and actually thought it was a good idea. I feel sorry for the generation of children growing up right now, never experiencing the old 1980s McDonald's. It used to be a fun place. All of the McDonalds near me have also modernized, but thankfully some of them still have a menu board and 1 cashier.
