We got the samosa, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, chili garlic naan and plain naan that came with rice. Fairly basic for Indian cuisine but it was executed well - cleaned up all of the sauce! They gave us the saffron-cardamom ice cream afterwards (gratis), which was especially good. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Smooth jazz atmosphere is calm and chairs are very comfortable.

Had a really good lunch. We tried the calamari, mutton biryani, Goan shrimp curry, garlic naan, and pudina paratha — everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The mutton biryani was especially aromatic and satisfying, and the Goan shrimp curry had a great balance of spice and coconut flavor. The naan and paratha were soft and went really well with the curry. Glad to finally have such a good Indian restaurant option in Madison!

I visited Neer on Monday night, May 11, 2026 at about 8:30 PM. I was the only customer in the restaurant at that time. I ordered a mango lassi, chicken tikka masala, and naan. It was an excellent meal, and the restaurant, considering it is on a main road such as Madison Avenue, was quiet with Indian music playing in the background. The service was friendly and attentive, with frequent refills of water at my table.
The chicken tikka masala was probably some of the best I've tasted, and I enjoy Indian cuisine. I hope this restaurant succeeds and expands into a larger building and a location with more parking, as the only complaint I had was that one had to park a few doors away in the parking lot of a chiropractor's office. I don't believe you can park on Madison Avenue near the restaurant. There is a Stop n Shop nearby with a large lot, that has a warning sign that any cars that don't belong to Stop n Shop customers will be towed, although I don't know how rigorously this is enforced. The current restaurant is small and appears to be a former roadside diner. Thank you for a wonderful meal and great service!

This place is amazing. We got the Shrimp Bhuna and Chicken Makhani Lunch Specials. For the Shrimp Bhuna, the shrimp was cooked perfectly and the sauce is thick and flavorful with the cooked peppers with it. For the Chicken Makhani, the chicken was nice juicy and the sauce was thick and creamy. The samosas were a little small but none the less tasty. The chicken tikka kebab was juicy and had a nice char on it. The naan was HUGE. Perfect for the lunch special. The gulab jamun was a little cold but nice and sweet. Also the soup added a nice touch to the meal. Definitely coming back!!!

I ordered takeout and tried the Chicken Chettinad along with the Dum Pukht Biryani, and overall it was a very satisfying experience.
The Chicken Chettinad was the highlight—rich, spicy, and full of authentic South Indian flavors.
The Dum Pukht Biryani was equally impressive. The rice was fragrant and flavorful, with each grain separate and well-seasoned. The slow-cooked style really came through, giving it a nice aroma and depth. The portion size was generous and easily shareable.
I’d definitely order these dishes again.
