  This spot was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was so nicely decorated and comforting! The service was fantastic, our serve Joao was very fast and attentive, as well as recommend us delicious food! When you go here, you have to try street corn, it was fantastic. The owner was also extremely nice and welcoming. Definitely a great spot!!!!!

  So happy to have a Mexican restaurant in town! The shrimp tacos and chicken enchiladas were absolutely delicious. Our server, Joe, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about gluten allergies, which we really appreciated. The restaurant also has beautiful, hand-painted murals and a warm, inviting aesthetic. We will definitely be visiting again!

  First time here and will definitely be back. Came for lunch after getting off the train with the family. Shrimp fajitas were yummy. Also got the street corn dip and some guacamole both of which were nice. Wish there was a fresh accompaniment with the fajitas but we should have just ordered a salad or some pico. Joel was our server and he was very attentive and took great care of us. Excited to have a new restaurant to add to our rotation!

  We had an amazing experience at Halal Cantina! The moment we walked in, we could tell this was an authentic Mexican restaurant. The décor, vibrant colors, and beautiful photos of Mexican people and countryside scenes made it feel like you were stepping into Mexico. We started with the guacamole and the creamy corn dip, and both were outstanding. The guacamole is an absolute must-order, and the creamy corn dip was rich, flavorful, and one of the best I’ve had. I highly recommend getting both as appetizers. For our entrées, we had the chicken enchiladas, birria, and steak fajitas. My favorite was definitely the chicken enchiladas—they were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The birria and steak fajitas were also delicious and did not disappoint. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely hospitable throughout our visit. The owner even came out to greet us, which added a personal touch that’s becoming harder to find these days. You can really tell they care about their customers and the overall dining experience. It was also great to learn that the owner’s wife is Mexican, which adds to the authenticity and passion behind the food. If you’re looking for authentic halal Mexican food, Halal Cantina is absolutely worth the visit. We’ll definitely be back!

  I live in Madison and I was very excited to have this business come to the neighborhood. Each time I have visited, I opt to try something different, and it all has been wonderful. At first I felt like the price was a bit high for Mexican food (as a Floridian), but, the quality makes up for all of that. The portions are great too. I don't eat beef so I cant speak to that part of the menu but absolutely try the chicken tostadas, shrimp tacos, or tortilla soup on your next visit. The staff is really cheerful and kind too. Wishing them success!
