  Overall, we had a great experience. The food and drinks were excellent, particularly the calamari & sushi, and we also enjoyed the Wagyu skirt steak with sides of mac and cheese and broccoli. The ambiance was lovely; however, the music was excessively loud, making it difficult to hold a conversation without raising our voices. My throat was actually strained afterward from having to speak so loudly. As for the service, there was room for improvement. Our waiter was initially inattentive and not particularly welcoming, which took away from the overall experience. Despite these drawbacks, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere and had a good time overall.

  Had a great dinner at Blu. The atmosphere was really nice and everything we ordered came out excellent. We started with the beef carpaccio and spicy tuna roll, and both were excellent with great flavor. For dinner, the skirt steak with truffle butter was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing, especially with the crispy fries on the side. The pasta bolognese was also a big hit and had a rich, well-balanced flavor. Everything we ordered was prepared well and tasted fresh. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the complimentary champagne was such a nice touch and made the night feel a little more special. Service was great throughout the entire meal, and the whole experience felt upscale without being overly formal. We finished the night with the espresso martini gelato, which was definitely different from your typical dessert and ended up being really good. The dessert drinks were also a fun touch and tasted just as good as they looked. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back. Highly recommend Blu for a date night, anniversary, or just a nice dinner out.

  From from our first greeting at the door to our goodbye after our meal, every single staff member we interacted with was personable, and genuinely invested in us having a wonderful experience. Our server. Santiago, took the time to walk us through drink selections based on our personal preferences and helped us find the perfect bites for every course. Each menu item was perfectly portioned, full of flavor, and whether it was a classic or a current trend, I we pleased with every choice we made. Shrimp cocktail was fresh, crispy rice was chewy and spicy, the Dover Sole was buttery, and seared to perfection. You must save room for dessert because the chocolate cremeaux was decadent!

  Coming from the Weehawken location first, the overall experience—food quality and service—gets knocked down a couple of marks for me. I’d probably only come back for the bar and appetizers. I couldn’t tell if the kitchen started substituting ingredients or adding filler because it was later in the evening and they didn’t want to prep more fresh ingredients, but the BLU’s Roll had a very noticeable amount of mayo. We also almost forgot about the rest of the meal we ordered because of how long it took to come out. Maybe it was just kitchen timing, but we ordered well before the kitchen closed, so I’m not really sure what happened. Overall, it was fine for a last-minute dinner reservation, but pretty forgettable—and a far cry from the experience at Blu on the Hudson.

  Fried rice was overpriced at $42.00. The expensive beef in the rice was chewy and not impressive to warrant the high cost of this. I also had a drink and dessert. Not sure what type of oil was used as an ingredient in the drink, rice or the dessert, but I had a sleepless night with severe indigestion. My companion had Dover sole which he felt was prepared in advance and microwaved. Side dishes are à la cart and nothing is included with the entree. Not worth the price. On the positive side our waiter was excellent, helpful and courteous. Initially they wanted to seat us in a noisy, crowded room but we opted for a quieter table. The atmosphere was great too. However the tea, bottled water, coffee and drink were overpriced.
