New on the menu and highly recommended: chicken tacos. It's shareable with a cajun twist (not Mexican). Tables are small, but I enjoy dining here.

Always great! Yummy, inventive food and beverage. We're here at least once a month, such a gem in JC. Shout out to our server Richard who is new to the team! Great addition 😊

Got the biscuits and pork gravy today. It was wayyyyy too salty. The poached eggs helped, big time. Without them, you cannot eat this meal. They helped cut through the overly salted gravy. I don't know if it's always like that, but if so, they really need to work on the recipe. I had my brother and friend try it and they both agreed it was way too salty. Unfortunately, I couldn't really taste much flavor because it was so heavily salted. The biscuits were also very dense, and stoggy, not flakey. I give them credit though, last time I came I had the French toast and it was absolutely delicious. I'm just disappointed that the pork gravy and biscuits weren't as tasty.

I’ve been wanting to try Cafe Alyce for a while since I live in the neighborhood and had seen so many positive reviews. I was excited to come in for brunch. The coffee was good, and I also enjoyed the smoothie. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. For the price (around $23+ for an entrée), I expected better flavor and presentation. My meal was very bland, and I ended up leaving most of it uneaten because I didn't enjoy it. The dining room also didn't feel as inviting as I expected. The flowers on our table were wilted, and the glass tabletop had visible stains. Our server was friendly, although service seemed stretched during our visit. Our bill came to about $70, and I didn't feel the overall experience reflected that price. While the drinks were the highlight of the meal, the food and atmosphere didn't meet my expectations. Based on this experience, I don't plan to return, but I hope future visits reflect the quality that so many other reviewers have experienced.
