  this place had potential but we were highly disappointed with the shrimp, seasonings were non existent and nearly undercooked. We would have complained but our waiter probably wouldn’t have heard us over the booming loud music.

  Sidebar has such a great atmosphere and some of the best cocktails! You can really tell how much thought and care the dining manager puts into crafting each one and creating a great experience for customers. It’s truly a lovely experience from start to finish!

  The burgers, wings, and cocktails are seriously the best! Everything was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Such a great spot for casual dining with a fun atmosphere. Allen at the bar makes the absolute best drinks & he has such fun energy! Definitely coming back!

  I attended a birthday party here and had a good time. The aesthetics are dive bar meets historical significance, making it a unique environment. The service was great and the food was pretty good.

  I’m genuinely not sure how much I believe these stellar reviews, and the small crowd size on a Saturday night 6 PM validated my doubt. The current food prices were a surprise, especially because the menus online appear to be outdated. Our entrées came to about $22–$28 each with tax/tip and we were both still left hungry afterward. The Reuben was the best value for $18, but they really couldn’t have given me the other portion of the bread? Ridiculous. Honestly charging $12-16 for a cocktail but $12 for fries seems pretty ridiculous to me. Getting there was another drawback. Street parking was extremely difficult, and we ended up walking about five minutes from the municipal lot. As two women walking at 6 PM, we didn’t feel particularly comfortable with some of the people passing by. The atmosphere also felt unusually quiet and had people spread out, which made the restaurant feel less cozy and inviting than it could. The music was also very low, and bringing the tables/guests together a bit more and adding some background energy (maybe turn up the volume 1-3 notches) could make the space feel much warmer without changing its overall vibe. I think if there would be more reasonable food pricing or portions, a warmer atmosphere, and honestly different location, it could make this a much more appealing spot. On the bright side, I liked the taste of my Reuben and beer in drafts are a good price. If they fixed at least the pricing or portion sizes for the rest of the menu, I might think of coming back. I’d also love it if they were more enthusiastic about sauces, start adding sauces galore! Specifically to burgers. Hate a dry meal.
