    I would like to file a complaint regarding my experience at this Dunkin’ location. During a visit earlier this morning, I attempted to pay using Apple Pay through Cash App. The store’s POS system repeatedly rejected the payment method. I offered to show the available balance in my account to demonstrate that funds were available, but I understand that ultimately payment authorization is controlled by the payment system. What concerned me was not the payment issue itself, but the manner in which I was treated by staff. After the payment failed, a female employee loudly remarked to another employee words to the effect of, “He can come back when he has money.” Rather than speaking to me directly, comments were made about me within earshot of customers. I found this embarrassing and unprofessional. Because I was working with clients at the time, I left and returned approximately an hour later. Upon my return, I felt that several staff members continued to treat me negatively, as though I had intentionally caused a problem. I again attempted payment, and the same method failed. After transferring funds and using a different bank card, the transaction was finally approved. At that point, the manager asked to speak with me privately. Rather than addressing the situation professionally, I was told that the payment issue was my fault. The manager also complained about having to discard the sandwich and iced coffee prepared during my earlier visit. While I understand that unsold food represents a cost to the business, I do not believe a customer should be blamed for a payment system issue that was beyond their control. I explained that I regularly use the same payment method at another Dunkin’ location without issue and suggested that the problem may have been related to the store’s POS system. The discussion became increasingly uncomfortable, and the manager ultimately told me not to return to the location. I recognize that payment issues can occur and that employees work in a fast-paced environment. However, customers should be treated with professionalism and respect regardless of the circumstances. My concern is not that a payment was declined, but that I was publicly embarrassed, blamed for a technical issue, and told not to patronize the store despite ultimately paying for my order. I hope this matter can be reviewed and that staff are reminded of the importance of respectful customer service and professional communication.
