Everything is alacarte. I ordered a chicken sandwich, waffle fries and a fountain soda. Cost over $17.00. Counter person told me "we don't have any lettuce" I said "I guess your not selling salads" He says "We have salads" I say " take some of the lettuce from a salad and put it on my sandwich" He says "Can't do it, it's different lettuce". The chicken sandwich was chicken tenders on a bun with mayo. There were three tiny little pieces of tomato. Looked like they cut a cherry tomatoes into 3 pieces. I will say the chicken tenders sandwich was at least juicy and not dry. The waffle fries were decent. Just too much money for fast food. I can go to several diners/taverns I know of and get a great chicken sandwich and fries for less. The place was empty. I wonder why?

I was actually impressed by their selection of burgers which is not normally found anywhere.
I had the Double Fried Egg with Truffle Mayo with Mushroom and Arugula Burger. I was impressed by this creation and it was amazing. I didn’t have to wait 20 min like at Burger 25 and their Tots were superior.
They failed to give my wife the two sauces that came with her fried shrimp and chips. The atm in the restaurant was dreary but I didn’t care because I was doing take out.

Brandon was super helpful in assisting me for the veggie choices. Super pleasant and witty, he got me to order the Brussels sprouts and veggie truffle burger. All excellent choices!
Thank you for going out of your way, Brandon!

I’m writing to report a serious allergy safety and customer service issue at your Brick, NJ location. On 4/19/25, I informed the cashier (who is listed in-store as ‘Employee of the Month’) that I have a dairy allergy before I could finish what I was saying she interrupted by saying, don’t worry. None of our products have gluten in them. I said OK. That’s fine. I don’t have a problem with gluten. I have a dairy allergy I than asked her to please confirm whether the bread, fries, and mayo contained milk. First, she confidently told me everything was safe without checking. When I questioned that, she admitted she didn’t know and reluctantly asked a team member in the back to ‘check,’ but they did not appear to actually verify any labels or ingredient lists. I had to repeatedly insist on verification for each item, and even then I did not feel that my allergy was being taken seriously. When I asked her to confirm whether the mayo contained milk, she refused to check or ask anyone else, even after I explained that eggs are fine for me but milk is not. At that point, I said I would rather go eat somewhere else because I did not feel safe. As I was walking out, she loudly called after me that I ‘had to pay’ because my order was supposedly already being made, even though it had not yet been entered into the system and no food had been served. This behavior shows a lack of basic allergy protocol and very poor judgment for someone representing your brand as ‘Employee of the Month.’ Food allergies are not a preference; they are a medical safety issue. Telling a guest ‘don’t worry’ instead of verifying ingredients, then refusing to check when asked, puts customers at real risk. I am requesting that you:
• Review the cameras and order system from that visit.
• Retrain staff at this location on how to properly handle allergy disclosures, including checking ingredients and labels rather than guessing.
• Address the cashier’s conduct, especially her refusal to verify ingredients and her inappropriate accusation as I chose to leave for my own safety. I would appreciate a written response describing how Smashburger intends to correct this issue so I can decide whether it is safe to visit your restaurants in the future.

This place has really gone downhill recently. So I went in to get food and I told the lady at the cash register who was very nice. I told her what I wanted and then waited and I got my food and the food was made incorrectly. I brought it to her attention and at this point, the manager began to yell at the cashier blaming her, which if it was her fault, it is what it is. It wasn’t a big deal, but it was the fact that the manager was yelling at the employee in front of customers, embarrassing her and belittling her. I asked her to remake it, and I explained it to the manager what I wanted, two or three minutes pass, they gave me my food back and it looked like they gave me the same burger just pulled things off of it. They also made it incorrectly again, so I sent it back again. The manager then started to give me an attitude as well as also continuing to yell at the employee in front of customers embarrassing her once again. They finally made my food and it was made correctly and I left. This hasn’t been the first time with this manager. I was there about a week prior. It was a different cashier and nothing was wrong with the food, it was made correctly and everything, but as I was sitting there, the manager was yelling at the employee, once again in front of customers. You can see how it made her feel as you can see it on her face that it was bothering her. The manager there is mistreating employees, and nothing seems to be getting done and I feel bad the fact that these employees have to deal with somebody who yells at them all the time.
