- MHMarquise HargroveOct 8, 20261.0I’ve been a Chick-fil-A supporter for years and actually worked at Chick-fil-A as a teenager for my very first job, so I understand and genuinely appreciate the company’s reputation for exceptional customer service. Unfortunately, this location was a major exception. On September 11, I placed a mobile order ahead of time and arrived around 9:06 PM to pick it up. I went directly to the designated pickup window, which clearly indicated that it served mobile orders as well as Uber, Grubhub and other delivery services. Instead of being able to pick up my prepaid order, I was told I had to get into the drive-thru line because after 9:00 PM, the window was apparently reserved exclusively for delivery orders. The problem? There was no notice in the app or at the window explaining this 9:00 PM cutoff. Six minutes after the supposed cutoff, I was essentially penalized for using the mobile-order system exactly as intended. I asked to speak with a manager, only to discover that the gentleman who had directed me into the drive-thru was Derek, the director. I eventually received my food at 9:22 PM - 16 minutes after I arrived to pick up an order I had already placed in advance. And it didn’t end there. After driving away, I realized they had forgotten the straws, so I had to turn around and wait again. When I saw Derek and explained how frustrating the experience was, I was given a coupon for a s’mores milkshake. I appreciate the gesture, but a free milkshake doesn’t fix a poorly communicated policy, an unnecessary wait, and an incomplete order. What bothers me most is that this is Chick-fil-A. The brand has built its reputation on hospitality, efficiency and making customers feel valued. I know that standard personally, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I’m still a Chick-fil-A supporter, but this location needs to do better - particularly with communication, accountability and the customer experience.
