Overall, I'd give LandShark Bar & Grill 3 stars. The food was a bit of a mixed bag, and the service unfortunately took away from what could have been a much better experience.
There were four of us dining—my husband and me, along with my cousin and her wife who were visiting from out of town. I live about 30 minutes north of Atlantic City, so I'm familiar with how busy the area can get, especially during the summer. I completely understand that vacation destinations get slammed, and I'm usually pretty patient.
What was difficult to overlook was that after we were seated, it took nearly 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our table. That's not an exaggeration—I know exactly what time we met outside and when our server finally came over. When she did arrive, she was friendly and took both our drink and food orders at the same time, which wasn't an issue.
The food itself came out in a reasonable amount of time. My husband and I both ordered burgers, and they were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, my cousin's chicken entrée was extremely dry and looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while.
The biggest issue was the service. Our server was genuinely nice, but she seemed overwhelmed and wasn't attentive. We were never offered drink refills, and after dropping off the check, it took another 30 minutes before she came back so we could pay.
What made things a little awkward was that before our food even arrived, she asked us to leave her a positive review because she'd received a negative one earlier. I really wanted to be able to do that because she was kind, but I also believe reviews should reflect the actual experience. As someone who bartended in Atlantic City for nearly 20 years, I understand that everyone has an off night, and I know how demanding the industry can be. This just felt like more than an off night. Whether she was given too large of a section or simply struggled with time management, the service wasn't where it needed to be.
I wouldn't hesitate to come back because the burgers were excellent and the location is great. I just hope the service is more organized next time.
Went there for lunch on Saturday 4 of July and to start the guy up front receiving you looked like he did not want to work there, second the skinny blonde waitress did not greet and had an attitude only time she was quick was when she brought the check and charge me, third I ordered the taco nachos, it was good but when I got my chicken and ribs, ribs was OK and the chicken was colder then the beach water and I ask her if they can just bring me another half of ribs cause I don’t want the chicken no more she brought it back to the kitchen and the “kitchen manager” said that he’s not doing that but can make another chicken. We just ate our nachos and the half of ribs and left, it’s not a good look for the restaurant and specially in the area where it is. Get you staff members better and wanting to work there, we won’t come back hope you guys do better 😉😚
I can only comment on the service, which, unfortunately in our case, there was very little. We stopped by for dinner before a concert at Hard Rock and were seated right away. We were able to sit out on the deck with a beautiful view of the ocean. After sitting for 10 minutes with no server coming to our table, we asked the server tending to the table next to us if he would be able to find out who our server was. Another 5 minutes went by with still no one coming to our table, during which time another table was seated directly behind us and a server came immediately to their table and started taking their drink order. After 15 minutes of no one even acknowledging us, we decided to leave.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary at your AC location yesterday and the entire experience was a disaster. I first ordered a mocktail and after waiting almost 15 mins while my husband had his drink I sat with nothing.
Then I ask to speak to Ashley the manager and she gives nothing but excuses that the bartender is alone and you’re getting ready for season and that I should be more patient. Then I ordered a soda and that was flat so I ended up with water not what I wanted to drink at all.
Next we ordered wings the manager brought them to the table we asked for silverware she nor our waitress ever brought it we sat another 10 mins while the food was cold because we had nothing to eat with. Ashley never returned to the table again. I grabbed another waitress who was attending her tables well if she could help us because we were not able to begin eating.
Then my husband ordered the crab cakes with fries and the plate arrives with 2 crab cakes a side of soggy green beans and the fries on top. The wet beans soaked both the cakes and fries. Just overall terrible experience. I tried to call to speak to the GM and no one answered the phone I had the resort operator call 3 times and then the line was busy. This is unacceptable
The waitress NEVER asked how our food was we sat forever waiting for the check and the to cash us out.
This was meant to be a celebration and your business ruined it completely. We left frustrated and disappointed. And paid 80 bucks for cold and soggy sub par food.
LandShark provided one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had, and not for the reasons they would hope.
After being seated, we enjoyed a relaxing 45-minute period of wondering if anyone knew we were there. Once a server finally arrived, we ordered drinks. About 30 minutes later, most of them showed up. One drink apparently decided to take a solo tour of Atlantic City because it didn’t arrive until after we had finished our meal, even after we reminded our server.
The entire restaurant seemed to be operating on pure confusion. At one point, I wasn’t sure if I was eating dinner or participating in a social experiment to see how long customers would wait before losing hope.
The food didn’t help. One order of shrimp appeared to still be negotiating the terms of being cooked. I ordered the chicken tacos, which were not good.
The only saving grace was the atmosphere and the view of the ocean. Thankfully, there was plenty of time to enjoy both while waiting for service.
If you’re looking for a beautiful waterfront view, this place delivers. If you’re looking for good service and quality food, I’d recommend continuing your walk down the boardwalk. You’ll probably find dinner faster than we did.
