The food is fine but the service is really slow. At 10:00 the wait for a party of 3 was 45 minutes. The entire time we waited, at least 3 or 4 tables sat vacant around the restaurant. This continued for the hour we dined as well with multiple open tables while many guests waited. Server took our order and never came back until we were almost done eating, my coffee and water was empty waiting. Watching staff bus a table was another indicator of why service is slow, there was not sense if urgency with patrons waiting.
Took 30 minutes to get our order. I had the carnivore hash and it was good, potatoes were O'Brien style deep fried, vs griddled. Not sure it why it would take that long to get an entree when the hash is deep fried. A line cook would have spent 2 minutes on my plate.
Most diners where I live hustle and get tables filled and turned. Maybe things are just slower in Omaha, not really sure.
I had high hopes based on numerous recommendations from locals. Based on the service and wait times, it's not a place I would bother going back to.

We had an amazing breakfast at Early Bird! My daughters ordered the cinnamon roll pancake, and it was absolutely delicious—sweet, fluffy, and packed with flavor. They loved it! I got the big breakfast burrito it was huge and just as impressive, loaded with fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly.
The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was fun, clean, and welcoming.
We left full and already talking about what we want to try next time. Highly recommend Early Bird if you’re looking for an incredible breakfast or brunch in Omaha!

Today my family and I had breakfast at the Blackstone location. We actually live in Ralston, but always make the drive, even with all the construction. We just love the OG spot and staff.
Our visit started off good. We were told the wait would be about 20–30 minutes, but we were seated in less than 15. Our server, Will, was awesome. He was friendly, kept our drinks refilled, made sure our order was correct, and checked on us often. You could tell he was also bartending and taking care of several other tables, but he never made us feel forgotten.
Unfortunately, the table next to us decided to take out their frustrations on the staff. They were loudly complaining about how long their food was taking and kept saying the restaurant “wasn’t even busy.” At one point, the manager, Kevin, who had been checking on guests and even helping clear dishes, stopped by their table. From what I could hear, he apologized and tried to address their concerns, but the gentleman wouldn’t let him get a word in. He became increasingly aggressive, to the point that my husband considered stepping in because of how disrespectfully he was treating the staff.
Throughout the entire interaction, Kevin remained calm, professional, and respectful. Even as the guests decided to leave, the gentleman seemed like he wanted to start an altercation. Kevin simply wished him a great day and calmly walked him to the door. It was honestly impressive to watch someone handle such a difficult situation with that level of professionalism.
Early Bird isn’t the place to go if you’re expecting to be in and out in 20 minutes. It’s a popular breakfast spot, and good food takes time. If you have somewhere to be afterward, plan accordingly instead of taking it out on hardworking staff.
Kevin and Will both deserve recognition for the way they handled everything. They even apologized to nearby tables for the disruption, even though they had done absolutely nothing wrong. On top of the outstanding service, our food was delicious as always.
Hats off to Kevin, Will, and the entire team. We’ll definitely keep making the drive to the Blackstone location.
