  If you are looking for authentic, high-quality Indian food in the Omaha area, Astoria Biryani House is the absolute gold standard. Having traveled to India three times, I can honestly say I haven't had a better biryani anywhere over there. The chicken biryani is phenomenal—perfectly seasoned basmati rice, incredibly tender chicken that melts in your mouth, and generous portions. Pair it with their tandoori naan, which has that perfect pillowy texture with just the right amount of char. Outstanding quality every single time—bahut hi badhiya khana! 5/5 stars!

  Tried their buffet and really enjoyed it! There was a nice variety of dishes, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The curries were especially good, and I liked that there were plenty of options to try instead of ordering just one dish. The food was kept warm, the buffet area was clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely a good place if you want to try different Indian dishes in one visit. Would come back again for the buffet!

  Went to the lunch buffet. Terrible experience. I got the chicken tandoori and it was raw, which we alerted the waiter to. Then, it took over an hour for them to restock the buffet. Once they finally restocked the goat it was so tough and overcooked that I thought my piece was a bone. Not to mention it was 80% bones and fat with way too much masala. All the other items were lukewarm and cold. Their sweet rice was sitting out so long that it went sour and I almost gagged to try and swallow it was so gross. Also they never restocked our water and when we finally asked they gave us a jug with warm tap water and it was not good. New customers should avoid this restaurant for the sake of their safety and dining pleasure. Biryaniwala is 100x better and they also have weekend lunch buffet.

  Had a great experience here! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the butter chicken was especially delicious. The sauce was rich and well balanced, and everything we ordered tasted freshly prepared. The staff was friendly and the service was good as well. Definitely a nice spot for Indian food, and I’d happily come back again!

  I can’t speak to the in-person experience, but a restaurant that rips off their take-out customers won’t get my in-person business. Ordered two orders of butter chicken; the first I was surprised to find was mostly sauce, but enough chicken that I could imagine why it might be a full serving. But when we opened the second serving, I found almost all sauce. I’m attaching a photo where I separated the chicken in own tub and sauce in the other so you can see the comparison, for context, there is no additional chicken hiding in a deeper layer; we got maybe 5 decent bites and a bowl full of sauce. The sauce is delicious, but close to $20 for maybe a quarter of a chicken breast is ridiculous. I can only assume they ran out of butter chicken for the evening and rather than call and offer a substitute, chose to fill the container with sauce so we wouldn’t notice until it was too late.
