This is by far the slowest most unorganized McDonald's i have ever seen. They almost never get your order right and the staff are unnecessarily rude.

Not only did we have to wait 30 minutes for the food, we didn’t even get 2 of the items we ordered. Super unorganized and slow. It may not sound like a big deal, but for a pregnant lady, it’s really upsetting. Will not be going to this horrible location again. Shame on you McDonald’s.

There are establishments that evolve with time… and then there are those that simply redecorate while the soul quietly clocks out and heads home early. This particular golden-arched institution has undergone not one, but two cosmetic reinventions during my tenure in Minot—each facelift shinier than the last, and yet somehow, the experience beneath remains as unchanged as a rerun you didn’t ask for. Now, to be fair—and fairness is my middle name, right after “dramatic”—this is a training ground for many entering the workforce. One expects a certain level of youthful chaos, peppered with seasoned veterans who have seen things… things no drive-thru timer should ever demand of a human being. And yet, what unfolds here feels less like customer service and more like a high-speed relay race where the baton is your meal, and satisfaction is left standing at the starting line, waving politely as everyone sprints past. There is an unmistakable sense that speed is king. Not flavor. Not presentation. Not even the gentle art of handing someone food that resembles what was advertised mere feet above their heads. The meals arrive with an efficiency that would impress a pit crew, yet visually land somewhere between “abstract interpretation” and “is this legally considered food?” For just a few dollars more, one can venture elsewhere and receive something that feels crafted rather than… deployed. It raises an eyebrow. Sometimes both. And then there is the flavor—or rather, the philosophical concept of flavor. One cannot help but ponder the impressive scientific orchestra of preservatives at play here. It’s less of a meal and more of a long-term storage solution with seasoning. While no one arrives expecting a health retreat, there is a quiet understanding that what’s being consumed may be contributing to something larger… though perhaps not in the way one hopes. If there is a path forward—and oh, how I believe there is—it lies in a bold, almost radical idea: simplicity. Fewer ingredients. More care. A return to the basics that once made this establishment iconic rather than merely convenient. Quality over quantity. Craft over conveyor belt. A burger that says, “I was made for you,” instead of, “I was next.” Until then, this location remains a fascinating study in speed, survival, and the enduring mystery of how something can arrive so quickly, yet feel like it took a wrong turn somewhere along the way.
