My husband and I had a great experience here! This is not your average mexican restaurant. The decor is fun and whimsy. Their chips are top notch and definitely noticeably better then other restaurants. I got the Wilmington margarita which I loved. Not a typical flavor and it was delicious and with real fruit. The carne asada was to die for. So tender and flavorful. Highly recommend. Would go back if ever in Wilmington.

Took our daughter out for dinner. It was her suggestion. We were seated immediately. The music is pumping and gets loud when they sing happy birthday. Big menu, lots of choices. Waitress came out with water and chips and salsa. We didn't have to ask. She was very professional. We ordered and the food came out quickly. All of it was hot(very important to me). Queso was good. We all enjoy the food. Had a bunch to take home as well. Another good Wilmington spot. My only thing is the restaurant has too much decorations. Stuff all over the place, included the ceiling.

The food here was not it.. I came here when I went on my Wilmington trip and I was expecting good food since TikTok was hyping this place up. I ordered camarones al ajillo and my fiancée ordered fajitas. The shrimp just tasted like straight up butter and barely any good flavor, did not like the rice, the elote “street corn” was not it either it was hard. The fajitas were so dry and the tortillas were not good either I was just so disappointed I was so really hoping for good food since the place is a vibrant fun place to eat at but the food did not meet my expectations. The drinks were good though.

We were really looking forward to celebrating two birthdays at Casa Encanto, but unfortunately the experience started so poorly that we ended up leaving before ever sitting down. We had a reservation for 12 people at 6:30 on a Wednesday evening. I got there right at 6:30 and was told they would only hold our table for 10 minutes and that at least 10 of our 12 guests had to be present before we could be seated. I was told this was their policy, but it was never communicated when I made the reservation. A 10-minute grace period for a large party is incredibly unreasonable. That can easily be the difference of hitting a couple of traffic lights and finding parking. If this is truly the restaurant’s policy, it should absolutely be disclosed when reservations are made so guests know what to expect. As we got to the 10-minute mark, I explained that our party had changed from 12 to 11 people and that 9 guests had already arrived. That is essentially the same percentage of our group that they originally said was required before seating us. Despite that, they refused to seat our group together. Instead, they said they could only seat the 9 people who were present because they had been “holding our table for over an hour” and there were two servers assigned to that section. As someone who works in the service industry, that explanation simply didn’t make sense. To make matters worse, the “solution” was to squeeze the 9 of us around a six-top table. At that point, after speaking with who I believe was the manager, we decided to leave. If the restaurant struggles to accommodate parties of this size, it would be better to limit the maximum reservation size rather than accept bookings they can’t realistically handle. It’s disappointing because we were celebrating both my birthday and another friend’s birthday, and we were excited. Instead, the restaurant lost the business of our entire group before anyone even ordered a drink, in addition to them holding that table for an hour. If they would have sat us when we got there - we would have immediately ordered drinks while we waited for the rest of the party to get there. Hopefully they’ll reconsider these policies or, at the very least, communicate them clearly during the reservation process so other guests don’t end up in the same situation.

I took my wife here since she had been before during lunch and really enjoyed her experience. We ran into some issues: - This place has nice decor. Vibrant colors, including a fake tree with pink flowers near the entrance that make me think of Washington DC cherry blossoms. I also appreciate the tile floors. Nice job on the design! - When we sat down, the waitress (who did her job well) asked us if we wanted any drinks or appetizers. We got water and ordered the queso dip. We hadn't gotten our chips yet, so we expected them to come out with the queso dip. - When the waitress returned with the queso dip, we still didn't have our chips. It was a bit weird to be given the hot queso dip, but nothing to eat it with. - Then the waitress returned a third time and we still didn't have our chips. We mentioned this to the waitress and she took care of the issue for us. Within a minute or so, chips were brought to the table. As best we can tell, this was not the waitress' fault, and it appears someone else is responsible for making sure chips are on the table. - The chips were delicious, as were the salsas. We also enjoyed the queso dip, which had a nice pico and corn topping which elevated the presentation. It had lost some heat by the time we were able to eat it, but was still tasty. - We had seen that another reviewer thought very highly of the chorizo, but there aren't many chorizo options on the menu. We asked the waitress about this, and she gave a couple of options. My wife ended up getting the wet burrito and thought it was ok. - I got the ribeye tacos and they were outstanding as expected! Great meat, served very nicely with a delicious sauce to put on top. Got them with flour tortillas. They were the highlight of the night! - The biggest negative of the night were the celebrations. Don't get me wrong - it's fine and even festive for the waiters and waitresses to bring a tall sparkler and celebrate someone's birthday (though merely just drinking a shot does not deserve a similar level of enthusiasm). However, the problem is that whenever one of these celebrations occurs, the music is turned up so loud that I cannot hear what my wife is saying at a two person table. The music was turned up like this several times throughout the evening. - My wife had previously been to this restaurant for lunch, and this experience did not happen to her. So if blaring music is not your thing, you might be better off coming for lunch rather than dinner. - I do want to make clear that our waitress was kind and attentive and served us well. Also, it was nice to be able to pay the bill and leave the tip all at the same time. We didn't necessarily need the efficiency, but that is a nice feature had we needed to leave more quickly.
