let me preface this by saying a few things- i frequent this location as i work close by. most of the time i just stop in to grab a drink on my way to work but oftentimes i’m also getting food before work. i have worked service jobs for most of my working age life and, because of that, i know how taxing they can be. i give service workers a LOT of grace and am always extremely polite, apologetic even if they’re the ones who made a mistake, and try to be quick as to not tank their drive thru times.
there is one particular woman at this location, she is an older woman with grey hair (there are two women that fit this description who work here but the other one is very kind), who is ALWAYS rude to me. every single time, without fail, to the point that i feel i must have done something for her to just not like me. every other worker at this location is extremely polite even when i can tell they have had a rough day or are amidst a big rush. i do not expect to be treated like royalty at all, but at the bare minimum i expect maybe a “hello” and a “you too” after i say “thank you, have a nice day”. this woman, however, almost never speaks to me at all. she opens the window and takes my money (she rarely even reiterates the total), hands me my food/drinks and usually slams the window. a lot of times she doesn’t even look at me. it genuinely feels like i have wronged her in some way to make her be this extremely avoidant of any interaction with me. it sounds like such a non-issue but it has been a consistent behavior for so long. initially, i assumed she was just having a hard time with something and i didn’t want to say anything and get her in trouble if that was the case.. it has instead persisted for the better part of a year.
today she forgot one of my drinks (i had gotten both a pepsi and a water so i had a drink for my meal and a drink for work) so, as she was handing me my food bag, i politely reminded her of the drink she had forgotten. as she was getting that drink, i checked my food bag to make sure i had everything before leaving and noticed i didn’t have any sauces. i contemplated even speaking up because i know how this woman always acts towards me but i really needed sauces for the tacos i got.. so when she handed me my drink, i said “i am so sorry but can i please have some fire and diablo sauce”. she turned around abruptly, grabbed two huge handfuls of sauces, pushed them into my hands (some fell because there were so many. i ended up with 37 sauces for 4 tacos), and slammed the window shut as i was thanking her.
like i said, i do not expect to be treated like royalty and i give service workers so much grace/the benefit of the doubt almost every time thinking maybe they are just having a bad day.. but this particular woman genuinely makes me feel bad for even coming to the restaurant every single time i see her. if i see she is working the drive thru, i dread the experience. i have had extremely pleasant interactions with every single worker aside from her. this is just a problem i have with this one specific woman. i have not been able to figure out what her name is from my receipts because it seems they just use each others log in for the drive thru POS system since it never shows a consistent name when she gives me my receipt.
lastly, i do not want this review to reflect badly on anyone else who works at this location or on the quality of the food!! this is, overall, a good taco bell location with excellent staff aside from this one woman.
