- CICall it how I see itAug 25, 20261.0I’m genuinely amazed at the experience today. I’m home sick with nothing better to do so here’s every detail. Within 2 steps of opening the door and walking to the pick up counter / cubby (this is the typical process) for most tropical smoothies. A man abruptly throws his arms in front of me and says “I’m going to stop you right there…” then he continue to scramble for the words of asking me if I had already placed an order. Which I had. I then realized this man who could not be visually identified as an employee was the franchise owner (James Bullock) and he was attempting to inform me there was a new designated pick up area for Togo orders conveniently placed at the front of the counter instead of the back. He didn’t say any of this but he should’ve, more importantly starting with an “excuse me”. The man aside him, in uniform, was able to quickly be aware of the unprofessional interaction and jumped in with a smile. I was in the parking lot writing this nice review about gentlemen in uniform that saved the experience. But wait, the man is uniform (likely James Schroeder, the director of operations for this area) walks out to his car where I inquired for Mr. Bullocks name; before I could finish my sentence interrupted me with “usually people just don’t say anything and drive away”. And if that isn’t a reflection of today’s common corporate mindset, idk what is. That’ll stay with me for a while and I look forward to referencing this to my team members as I train them what not to do. Anywho, $6 açaí bowls won’t bring me back. I’d reccomend the other “bowl” place in this shopping center. Still in touch with customer service and much better quality. “Usually people just don’t say anything and drive away”… wow

I ordered an Island Green with whey protein, and despite being the only customer in the placeee, I waited 10 full minutes before anyone even started making my drink. When I finally got to my car and took a sip, it was completely unblended. I was chewing on whole chunks of kale, spinach, and banana, plus dry, powdery clumps of whey protein. It was gross and practically undrinkable. Management clearly fails to train their staff. Leaving an entire store run by unsupervised teenagers who don't know how to operate a blender is ridiculous. Train your employees properly before handing people garbage and expecting them to pay for it. I won't be coming back!
