Cashier apparently did not hand us all our bags and was in rush (2 cans of cat food, 80¢/eo so not expensive just we had already paid it). Called, was told that they'd check. No calls and so called again a few days later till yesterday... Manager told us to come get the items, but let him know we had no idea where the receipt was. Was told it was fine so my husband went in for me since I couldn't get away from work.
They changed managers around this time and when my husband got there the guy (Eric? Aaron?) was like no. No receipt, no. Talked down to my husband to the point where my laid back husband was agitated. Husband's English can be confused but not typically (he's an American now too) but he called me upset saying was like maybe we misunderstood the manager, so I called (was at my day job).
Was lectured by Aaron? Eric? that I knew better and that he wanted to let me know a few things and that my presence wasn't needed....but that I should have come etc. Didn't ask my husband to check his app (which may have shown the purchase, most times it does we just didn't have paper receipt.) Accused me of this happened before (no because we always have had receipts and this is only time where a bag was left, this wasn't a return...)
This SAME MANAGER refused my return WITH A RECEIPT when we got the wrong dog food from TO GO. Say what you'd like to me but another manager gave us greenlight and my husband didn't deserve to deal with this.... He just ended up buying more, (again it was just because we already paid) and swearing to never return there.
Perla (the supervisor) was absolutely terrible. I asked for help, she didn’t not want to help me at all and i was completely shocked. She had Micheal help me and he found the item for me. As a instacart worker this is my first time experiencing this or being denied help at ANY food lions and i serve at plenty of food lions around NC and they had no problem helping me. Perla does not need to be a store supervisor respectfully. and as I was finishing up my Instacart order, I was leaving out going down an aisle To the checkout area and I’m watching her happily assist someone else so I’m not sure if it’s because of my color (AA) or what. I watched her help a customer in the same way that I needed help smiling and everything and she didn’t go beyond her job position that she has to help me find what I need to find. And then, on top of that, after I had my issue with her, she apparently were telling other coworkers because all of the coworkers kept coming down the aisles to stare at me and figure out who I was. Very unprofessional. This is the worst Food Lion I’ve ever been to. you’re not just a regular associate you are a supervisor of your store and you did absolutely nothing to help me and I’m not just a regular customer. I’m serving for customers that are trying to shop at your store and I’m trying to shop for them and serve them. So 1/10 experience. And asking Michael to come help me just because you don’t want to do it and he found it within 10 seconds when it’s in your face is insane to me. she didn’t care about me trying to serve people that are spending money at her store, And she did not care to provide me excellent customer service, which is what I always expect because I get it at any other Food Lion. I also let those customers know to possibly choose another store to shop at after my experience. my customers were disappointed because their order was not done in a timely manner because I was asking for help and wasn’t getting the proper help from Perla and she had to call somebody else all the way from the back to come do her job because apparently she doesn’t want to do it.
Glad they finally finished the remodel. It looks nice. Like most Food Lions, this is exactly what you'd expect from a small, neighborhood grocery store.

Employees nice and helpful but don't ever need anything at the last minute doors is locked at 15 till 11:00

It never was this terrible. Even though they have made all of the updates it has gone down hill. I rarely go and when I do I am reminded why. Old produce. Sale items MIA. Empty meat cases. Non valid rain checks due to not being filled out properly. Is this just how Food Lion operates?
