- TATyler AJul 30, 20263.0This location needs some help. The meat area has a rotten meat smell and you can see the drip/leaks underneath the fresh meat packages. Its enough to make me not want to shop there again. This is not the first occurrence either. And some of the employees are not friendly. We shop later at night (8pm-9pm) because of our work schedule and heading to the checkout line with a cart and receiving rolled eyes and rude looks from the employee, makes this shopping experience even worse. This Food Lion is closer to where we live, but after several not pleasant experiences, I think our family will start driving up to the Publix in Ocean Isle instead. Its worth the higher food prices to shop at a cleaner, nicer and more friendly store. Shallotte Food Lion needs to do better.
