Was not overwhelmingly awesome as expected and didn’t feel like it was worth the hype. The service was awesome - they addressed me by name 3 times.
The drive thru line was long and the order entry process was a bit lengthy.
I ordered a cheese burger with ketchup only. By the time I got home my ketchup was fully absorbed in the bun and I only live four minutes away. Also, my cup was filled to the brim with ice which was disappointing. Once I supplemented with my own ketchup and beverage at home, I was satisfied and it tasted good.
My advice would be portion control; too little and too much.

Here is a draft for the new Raleigh location (like the one on Six Forks Road), written to match your informative, balanced, and community-minded Local Guide style:
**5/5 Stars**
I was incredibly excited to see Whataburger finally open a location here in Raleigh. For me, taking that first bite brought back a flood of childhood memories—and I'm happy to report it tastes just as good as I remembered.
The burgers are massive, hot, and exactly as flavorful and tasty as they should be. It’s a completely different style of fast-food burger than what we usually get around here, and that classic, oversized bun and distinct seasoning really hit the spot.
Because it’s a brand-new, highly anticipated spot for the area, you can expect it to be busy, but the team here handles the crowd remarkably well. The drive-thru was efficient, the staff was welcoming, and the facility was spotless. It is a fantastic addition to the local food scene, whether you are looking for a nostalgic taste from the past or just a genuinely solid, late-night burger. Highly recommended!

They had trouble getting the orders right. The employees are new and undertrained. When we asked for a correction it took them 20 minutes to make a plain cheeseburger with no toppings. Was told a milkshake was a 10minute wait and it arrives 25minutes later. Milkshake arrives and the shake is dripping off the sides because the lid doesn't fit, employee could care less and handed it to me as it dropped all over the table and my legs. Now let's get to the famous burgers. They are big and that's about it. The beef has no seasoning. The fries are soggy and soft. Same is true for the onion rings. Avoid this place. Not worth the money your time or your patience.

The ordering drink and waiting area is a complete mess. People waiting hard to get drinks and workers just standing around in the middle of it all.
Chicken bites and onion rings were extremely nasty as they were cooked in old oil that clearly was not up to temp as they were dripping with oil.
Fries were fresh but tasted old due to the oil.
Burger was very dry, and the potato bun was toasted to burnt on top.
Overall after not having whataburger since 2010 In San Antonio, I was very disappointed in this experience.

I ordered a double burger, fries, and a milkshake. They gave me a number, and I sat down. It was my first time there. After a while, they brought out the burger and fries. I had to call over the man who brought the order to tell him I also had a milkshake, after which he brought it to me. Later, I went to the counter to ask for ketchup. The man said he would bring it right away but never did, even though he walked past me several times after that. It wouldn't have been a problem for me to get the ketchup myself, but it was nowhere to be found. So, I ate the fries without ketchup.
The fries weren't great—thin and dry. The meat was average quality; the burger itself was just a regular burger—all ingredients from planet Earth, nothing special. The mustard, like all mustard in America, is terrible quality—cheap and sour, having nothing in common with real mustard. Real mustard is only from Eastern Europe. But since this is fast food, you shouldn't expect 5-star quality; the business's goal is to buy cheap and sell dear. The place was crowded and all the tables were taken, which means people like it. I'm not sure if I'll go a second time.
